    Painter Ludwik "Koz" Kozlowski
    A retired medical doctor originally from Poland, Koz has paintings in private collections all over the U.S. and abroad in Europe. He considers Arkansas' own very famous artist V.L. Cox his mentor, who by the way purchased some of his art. Because of her encouragement, painting eventually became his passion. You may find Koz doing demos in our cafe during lunch on Thursdays. His miniatures are popular and prices are affordable.

    Collage Artist Byron Werner
    Byron's "psychadelic eye candy" works are made from giftwrap paper. He has been featured in gallery shows from L.A. to New York and has worked on the TV show "The Simpsons" and the Star Wars movies.

    THIS WEEK: Third Friday Art Walk
    During the cold winter months, the Argenta 3rd Friday ArtWalk will take place in warm indoor places. Join us this Friday, January 16th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Over 20 local artists will display and sell their work at the First Presbyterian Building on 4th and Maple and in galleries and working art studios on Main Street. Main Street locations include Argenta Art Company, Argenta Bead, Baker House B&B, Arkansas Art Gallery, Claytime Studios, Starving Artist Cafe, THEA Foundation and Galaxy Furniture. Warm refreshments will be served to help take the chill off. Bundle up and stroll down the historic streets of Downtown North Little Rock. Meet some of Arkansas' finest local artists.     New Dates! Argenta Restaurant Week: January 26th-31st
    Argenta Restaurant Week has moved up a week to the last week in January. The promotional week at Argenta's restaurants will feature special fixed price menus of $8 for lunch and $25 for dinner during the week of January 26-31, 2009. Participating restaurants include Benihana Japanese Steakhouse, Cornerstone Deli & Pub, Cregeen's Irish Pub, Margo's Catfish Diner, Reno's Argenta Cafe, Ristorante Capeo, Riverfront Steakhouse, Salty Parrot, Starving Artist Cafe', Valentine's Ballpark Italian Restaurant, and others. The promotion gives diners an affordable way to sample various menu items.

    At Starving Artist Cafe', we are offering a special menu of 2 courses for $8 for lunch and 3 courses for $25 for dinner.


    Argenta Restaurant Week Menus
    "Tales from the South" Recording Monday, January 19th @ 5pm
    We will be recording "Tales from the South," a radio show featuring Arkansans telling their own true stories, on Monday, January 19th at 5pm at Starving Artist Cafe'. Come by and be a part of our live audience and hear amazing tales.

    Doors open at 4:30pm. Taping starts at 5pm. The bar will be open, the kitchen closed. Come relax, enjoy, and support local storytellers.
