| An Advent
Prayer
Father in heaven, our hearts desire the warmth of your love and our minds are searching for the light of your Word.
Increase our longing for Christ our Savior and give us the strength to grow in love, that the dawn of his coming may find us rejoicing in his presence and welcoming the light of his truth.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord.

Find Us Ready Lord! 2009 Theme for Adent
Our theme for Advent this year is, "Find Us Ready, Lord." It comes from the lyrics of Tom Booth's song with the same name and invites us to wait for the Lord, not in a passive sense, but in a sense of preparedness by building God's kingdom as we wait for its fulfillment. The words of the song prays, "Find Us ready Lord, not standing still. Find us working and loving and doing your will. Find us ready, Lord, faithful in love, building the kingdom that's here and above."
Join us for the many events of Advent which help our hearts prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas. May this be a time of true waiting, listening, praying and watching for the day. |
