Since opening The Nest Egg seven years ago, we have been committed to bringing our customers unique, quality home furnishings and gifts at a variety of price points and most importantly, at fair prices. By that we mean that we have never exceeded a standard industry markup on our furniture pieces and most of the time, our regular everyday price is about 30% less than the manufacturer's suggested retail price.

Customers often ask us why we don't hold sales more often or why we are unable to discount regular priced items off of our sales floor. The reason for this is that we believe in being fair to all of our customers by starting with the best price that we can offer and by staying consistent with our pricing. Many other retailer stores operate by starting at the manufacturer's suggested retail price and then holding sales multiple times throughout the year, at which point they mark items down to the prices that we use the first time around. That is an acceptable practice, it's just not how we've chosen to do business.

We respect our customers and always want you to know that you don't have to worry that something you purchase will be on sale the next week or that you are spending more than what is fair. When we do hold a sale, it is always to make room for new inventory, move out discontinued merchandise or to introduce new floor models. It's never because we are marking down inflated "standard" prices and therefore leading you to believe that you are saving money.

If you've visited us lately, you may have noticed that we've introduced a new price tag on many of our upholstered items and furniture pieces that includes "our price" and a "list price" (also known as the manufacturer's suggested retail price). We wanted to take this opportunity to explain what that means and we hope this helps our customers feel confident that they are always paying a fair price the first time on merchandise that they purchase from The Nest Egg.
