Want to Help MPA and Get Paid?
MPA is looking to hire several people to help the host groups run their regular-season competitions and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for competing groups, the audience and everyone else involved. Job duties will include:

  • working with the host group to make sure facilities are properly set up before the start of the competition, according to existing guidelines
  • bringing and distributing judges' sheets the day of the show
  • handling the digital score-tabulation process during the competition
  • acting as a liaison between the host group and MPA when needed
  • other duties as needed

We are asking for a time commitment of several shows per person hired for this role. It's OK if you can't work every show or show weekend during the season. Comfortability with learning basic computer software, organizational skills and a desire to help MPA are the major qualifications needed.

If you would like more information about this job or want to suggest a person you think would be a great fit for this paid position, please contact MPA President Paul Weber at drumpaulw@aol.com.

New Website Coming Soon

new Website

We've been busy building a shiny new Website that will replace the current www.mnperc.org by the start of 2012. In the meantime, the current Website will not be updated very much, if at all. If you have questions, please contact Vlad Boz at vboz@mnperc.org. Thank you for your patience as we get the new Website up and running. It'll be worth the wait!

Thankful for
Achieving personal goals. Freshly taped sticks. Making music with your friends. Memories that will last a lifetime. Watching a student make a breakthrough and knowing you helped. Working as a group for a common goal. Applause from the audience. New mallets. Understanding what those outside the activity will never understand. Shiny cymbals. Seeing your children's pride when they're performing. Having an instant group of close friends. A great run-through to finish a long rehearsal. Watching your children find something they excel in and love being a part of. Knowing you did your best. Being part of a unique, wonderful activity that will change your life and will be with you forever.

As you're thinking about drumline this Thanksgiving, what are you thankful for? Let us know at newsletter@mnperc.org.
