A Few Words from Pastor Roy..
Friends of Grace,
Although I missed worshiping with you this past Sunday morning, it was good to be able to be able to share the Gospel and worship with some dear friends. Three souls were added to the kingdom! A special thank you goes out to Mike Willenborg for his sharing of God's word this past Sunday morning.
This coming Sunday we will dedicate two precious children to the Lord and honor our mothers in a special time of celebration and worship.
I look forward to seeing each one of you there!
Dr. Roy D. Mason, Jr.

New Bible Study This Coming Sunday Morning!
Take It To The Limit, How to Get The Most Out of Life
by Andy Stanley
Ladies, be sure to join us! Make this is 6-week DVD
study a priority, and be sure to invite a friend.
Beginning 9:30 a.m., Sunday, May 8.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brief Course Description:
Overloaded? Maxed Out? Our culture encourages us to live as if we have no limits. So we fill up our schedules and empty our bank accounts. We do as much as we can, spend as much as we can, and aquire as much as we can- all in an effort to get as much as we can out of life.
In this six-session companion study guide to the Take It to the Limit DVD, Andy Stanley explains that the secret to getting more out of life is not doing more, but doing less. We must learn to create margin to live the life God intended for us.
His Love for Us
Who can fathom this agape love that our Lord has for us? Can we even grasp the significance of it? Not really.............not now..........but in eternity we will!!!! What WILL we do when we personally see Jesus face to face?? Fall down as dead like John, or collapse like Paul did......or maybe sing a song of love for Him or dance a dance of devotion directed to Him, hug Him with all available strength........maybe all of it!! Who knows, but surely, it will be a day to remember!!!!
"Praise the Lord, O my soul, all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, all His works, everywhere in His dominion. Praise the Lord, O my soul". - Psalm 103:1,22 |
Missions is It!
God wants His people to partner with Him in the process of redeeming our lost world. Much of the Old Testament reports on His efforts to get the Israelites to be His "priestly nation" and "a light to the nations." But they kept forgetting His purpose in calling them together in the first place, despite the prophets He sent to remind them, as summarized by Stephen in Acts 7. Finally, Jesus came as Savior, but God's idea of having His people work with Him in the redemption process remained unchanged. The Book of Acts records how the church Jesus started became empowered by the Holy Spirit to tell of God's love far and wide. But His original intent is the same-He wants to be in a relationship with all the peoples of the world, and He wants us to help make it happen. This is missions, and it is the uniting theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Here's a shorthand way to express it:
Missions is not part of the church program. Missions is the church program.
Prayer Room Volunteers Needed
God has said that His house is one of prayer. It is the foundation for all ministry. If you believe you are being called by God to pray on Sunday mornings during the teaching time please call Barbara Abbott at 828-478-1073, or e-mail her at prayer@gfellowship.org to sign up. This is a rotation ministry and you will probably be called to pray once every two or three months. As intercessor, you will be with the congregation for the praise and worship and then go to the prayer room at the back of the sanctuary during the time that Pastor Roy teaches. There are many aids in the prayer room to help you pray.
