Resurrected Survivors!
Has it occurred to you recently that all believers are resurrected survivors??!! Yes, we are........by the sacrifice of Jesus our Messiah we have been raised from the dead. We would be spiritually brain dead, cut off, lifeless, inanimate, breathless, cadaverous, inert.............had not our Servant King walked willingly to Golgotha to give up His physical life by the hideous tool of destruction called a cross. Because He lives, we live also!!! Lord Jesus....your unspeakable sacrifice for us profoundly humbles us.
"For my Father's will is that every one who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:40 NIV |

Missions is It!
God wants His people to partner with Him in the process of redeeming our lost world. Much of the Old Testament reports on His efforts to get the Israelites to be His "priestly nation" and "a light to the nations." But they kept forgetting His purpose in calling them together in the first place, despite the prophets He sent to remind them, as summarized by Stephen in Acts 7. Finally, Jesus came as Savior, but God's idea of having His people work with Him in the redemption process remained unchanged. The Book of Acts records how the church Jesus started became empowered by the Holy Spirit to tell of God's love far and wide. But His original intent is the same-He wants to be in a relationship with all the peoples of the world, and He wants us to help make it happen. This is missions, and it is the uniting theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Here's a shorthand way to express it:
Missions is not part of the church program.
Missions is the church program.
~~~~~~~~~~~ Missions Prayer Focus: Local, National and Worldwide Outreach Efforts
This week in all of Christendom is the week we refer to as "Holy Week", the week remembering the last week of the Lord Jesus' earthly ministry. This week affords us unique opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are lost around us. Remember, in a world of around 7 billion people, 6 billion of those people are lost. What can we, as Christians do about it? We can start by praying - for both our active, full-time missionaries and all those who will be doing any kind of outreach this week. We can also involve ourselves by inviting that lost friend, family member, neighbor or co-worker to worship with us this coming Thursday Evening and on Easter Sunday morning. And finally, be in prayer for your Pastor as he will bring the message on Sunday morning!
Prayer Room Volunteers Needed
God has said that His house is one of prayer. It is the foundation for all ministry. If you believe you are being called by God to pray on Sunday mornings during the teaching time please call Barbara Abbott at 828-478-1073, or e-mail her at prayer@gfellowship.org to sign up. This is a rotation ministry and you will probably be called to pray once every two or three months. As intercessor, you will be with the congregation for the praise and worship and then go to the prayer room at the back of the sanctuary during the time that Pastor Roy teaches. There are many aids in the prayer room to help you pray.
