About this study:

This will lead us through the first 11 chapters of Genesis, unlocking hidden meanings in the familiar stores of Creation, Adam and Eve, Noah and the ark, the Tower of Babel and others.  Anne Graham Lots thoughtfully illuminates each moment of Creation with inspiring insights and probing reflections to better reveal God, the Creator of us all.  You'll thrill to the beauty and majesty and tenderness of God's personal involvement in creating the world and your come to recognize the Creators infinite power at work in your life as well.

A Word about Prayer

God says in the Psalm (55:22) "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you" and God says through Peter (1Peter 5:7) "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you".  Isn't it wonderful that God tells us these truths so that we can put our needs at His feet!!!  There are always overwhelming floods from various directions to turn our eyes away from the Person who is always there for us and who will "never leave or forsake us".  As intercessors we have the privilege of laying our own cares at His feet and also praying for those who especially need Him by their side.........it is a year-round privilege to intercede on behalf of the One who loves us so much!!!

Missions is It!

God wants His people to partner with Him in the process of redeeming our lost world. Much of the Old Testament reports on His efforts to get the Israelites to be His "priestly nation" and "a light to the nations." But they kept forgetting His purpose in calling them together in the first place, despite the prophets He sent to remind them, as summarized by Stephen in Acts 7. Finally, Jesus came as Savior, but God's idea of having His people work with Him in the redemption process remained unchanged. The Book of Acts records how the church Jesus started became empowered by the Holy Spirit to tell of God's love far and wide. But His original intent is the same-He wants to be in a relationship with all the peoples of the world, and He wants us to help make it happen. This is missions, and it is the uniting theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Here's a shorthand way to express it:

Missions is not part of the church program.

Missions is the church program.

Men's Ministry!

If you are interested in being involved in our Men's Ministry please contact me as soon as possible. This is a ground floor opportunity to create a men's ministry that YOU would want to be involved in. One of my favorite sayings is "Get the Spectators off the Field".

So in that spirit let's put our ideas together with the Lord's direction and grow together in Him.

Prayer Room Volunteers Needed

God has said that His house is one of prayer.  It is the foundation for all ministry.  If you believe you are being called by God to pray on Sunday mornings during the teaching time please call Barbara Abbott at 828-478-1073, or e-mail her at prayer@gfellowship.org to sign up.  This is a rotation ministry and you will probably be called to pray once every two or three months.  As intercessor, you will be with the congregation for the praise and worship and then go to the prayer room at the back of the sanctuary during the time that Pastor Roy teaches.  There are many aids in the prayer room to help you pray.
