Green is Red Hot
Well, where to begin... I can hardly catch my breath for all of the activity around Green Biz in Hawaii! The economy may be down, but interest in green is up.
 I recently gave a presentation on green business strategy at the Live Green workshop in Hilo, attended by over 50 people interested in learning more about how to integrate social and environmental practices into business. Watch the video or download the audio.
 Green minded MBA students invited me to be the keynote speaker for the launch of Net Impact at my alma mater, the University of Hawaii- Schidler College of Business. Net Impact is an organization dedicated to improving the world through a social and environmental focus in business.  Closer to home, Craig Elevich put together the Hawaii Island Homegrown: Food Self-Reliance Workshop.
I facilitated the community networking part of the day and am pleased to report that the Hawi community had a lot of concrete actions come out of the day. Close to my heart was an agreement to convene a local Food Forum to help facilitate discussion and action around the growing, marketing and sharing of locally grown food.
Of course with Earth Day right around the corner... April and May are already packed with amazing eco events including the Trash Bash and the Kuleana Business Conference & Trade Show (see left).
