As a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma, your feedback is essential to helping the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation make sound decisions on behalf of our donors. Today, we are asking for your help. We'd like to learn more about what causes you believe are deserving of support of the Foundation.
As you know, your Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation was established over four decades ago. Thanks to our donors we are living the ideals of our Founders. We are advancing womanhood through providing our sisters scholarships, educational grants and leadership programming. We are working to alleviate the world's pain by supporting disaster relief through our Twin Ideals Fund and helping those with kidney disease.
Since 1971, the Foundation has supported the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and, in recent years, the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Beginning in June 2006, the Foundation began a new partnership with NKF, proudly serving as a corporate sponsor of the NKF Transplant Games, an Olympic-style event for athletes who have received life-saving organ transplants.
Sadly, we learned this past year that the NKF is suspending their sponsorship of the Games. As we work with NKF to determine next steps, we see this as an opportunity to provide assistance to others in need by exploring another philanthropic cause.
This survey is the first step of many. We'll analyze your feedback carefully, understand what the needs and wants of our members are and work to solicit proposals from potential charities. We want to be sure that any new partner has a record of excellence and a reach that will allow sisters from across North America to be involved.
