RV Greetings!
Where did the year go! It seems like just
yesterday we where planning for the 07 camping
season.
And you better not wait to long to start booking for
2008! We have already run into issues getting a spot
for the Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. Now
it is not uncommon to find a campground booked 6
months in advance for many non holiday summer
weekends. I can't
imagine there is a campground owner out there that
could possibly complain about RV'ers spending a
night in a Walmart Parking while passing through.
What happened to those adventurous spur of the
moment days when you could hitch up or jump in the
RV on a Friday afternoon, pick a direction, drive a few
hours and stop when you come across a
campground.
Now we wait for the clock to turn midnight 6 or 9
months in advance so we can
reserve a site on-line at the earliest date the
reservation system will allow!
And it doesn't look like it is going to improve anytime
soon. Rarely have I heard of anyone putting in a new
campground, if anything you hear another bite the
dust
to a new home development. This is one area the
RV industry better pay close attention to because
eventually
it will begin to turn off those less than die hard RV'ers
and RV sales.
Well back to checking the clock, I have a reservation I
need to make for October.

Members have
asked for additional features in the classifieds to try and set their ad
apart from the others and we have delivered. You can
now feature your ad for $4.99 for as long it takes for
you to sell your RV or related item. Featured ads
show up at the top of the classifieds as well as a link on the homepage of iRV2. That
is some major exposure! We have also added a bold
