Unfortunately, road rage is all too common these days and joining the chaos is never the answer. Staying calm and using polite manners can often help you avoid having a situation escalate to aggression or violence. A few friendly hand gestures to acknowledge something nice done by another driver will serve you well. A quick flash of the lights to signal "after you" avoids miscommunication. When trying to merge into heavy traffic, making eye contact with neighboring drivers becomes a subtle "may I" and will oftentimes result in them allowing you to enter, rather than forging ahead.
With roads becoming increasingly more congested, it's important that we treat each other with respect. We have to share the road and safety is important to all of us.
