Proverbs 3:27
e-nnunciator for October 30, 2011
Greetings!

If you are reading this, you are able to view the new format of the e-nnunciator.  The old yahoo listserve had limitations.  Besides, all the cool kids are using Constant Contact, so we thought we would enter the 21st Century like other churches.

The celebration of All Saints Day is moved to Sunday, November 6, 2011.

See you this Sunday!

Loyola University Free Lecture:
"Two Contrasting Paths of Jewish Spirituality"

Please join the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences for an evening with Dr. Paul Mendes-Flohr:

"Martin Buber & Franz Rosenzweig: Two Contrasting Paths to Jewish Spirituality"

Tuesday, November 1st, 7pm

THE LECTURE:
Jewish philosopher Martin Buber focused on the challenge of serving God in (what he contended was misleadingly labeled) the secular sphere of everyday life. Jewish theologian and philosopher Franz Rosenzweig emphasized divine service through prayer and Talmud Torah (the study of scripture and its commentaries.) Dr. Mendes-Flohr will examine their exchange on these two alternative conceptions of divine service and explore the question of whether they are divergent or, in fact, complementary, as methods for giving one's faith a fullness of expression.
