Annual campaign coming! |
Shortly you'll be receiving some mail from Angel Flight Southeast. In the next several weeks, you'll receive a letter asking for a financial contribution to our cause. Many of you do contribute already, either through a direct donation or by servicing our passengers, and we thank you very much! As you know, our pilots generate the largest part of our donations through their generosity of their time, fuel and aircraft.
The money raised goes to enable running an office which coordinates (and many times re-coordinates) thousands of flights each year, across 6 states, hundreds of airports, and does this 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. It also supports the outreach activities taking place to let potential patients and passengers know about our services. These outreach activities include participating in public awareness events throughout our six states, printing and maintaining inventories of brochures and distributing them, maintaining websites and databases of pilots and other volunteers, applying for and reporting of grants, and much, much more.
Fact: We've mailed over 9,000 tri-fold brochures, 25 per mailing, to FBOs (airport fuel stations) and case managers/social workers in the healthcare facilities across our six-state region just in the past 60 days!
In a couple of weeks, we will send out a multi-page newsletter, recognizing many of the volunteers, donors and celebrating the accomplishment s of 2011.
We've also begun a campaign, sending letters to corporations on how they can help this holiday season, such as contributing to Angel Flight instead of a holiday party, or holding a jeans day where employees pay to wear jeans for a day. If you'd like help approaching your HR manager about any of these suggestions, please call Steve at our office: (352) 326-0761.
Please pass these communications materials along to anyone that has an affinity toward our great cause!
