MTSC is a Woman-Owned Small Business

MTSC is kicking off 2011 with a new look to our Quarterly Update which will give you an easier, quicker read of what's happening at MTSC and quick links to review our services and capabilities.

In this issue we pay tribute to Al Mason whose untimely passing shocked us all and brought a flood of kind comments from Associates and clients that Joanie and the Mason Family wish to share with everyone.  We'll also walk you through our new Quarterly Update format and we'll highlight MTSC's Review Team support capabilities.

A Tribute to Al Mason, 1944-2011

 Al
The pain of Al's loss is eased by the out pouring of love and respect for Al by friends, relatives,  business partners and acquaintance.  Below are highlights of the many emails from the business community Joanie and the family received:

"Al was a great guy, as a mentor and teacher, as well as one of the most ethical and dedicated individuals I know in this business."

" It was always a pleasure to work with Al not only because of his knowledge of the business but most importantly his personality.  We will miss him."

" Al was a good friend to many of us - I really looked up to him and counted on his guidance and friendship."

"Al was a man of superb integrity, fiscal honesty and character."

"I will miss his enthusiasm, professionalism, and candor."

"No matter how heated the discussions became, he was always a gentleman.  I and many proposal managers will miss him terribly."

"We would not be were we are today if it had not been for Al and MTSC."

"Al was a business mentor, a partner, and at times a "brother" as we shared life stories and challenges."

"We all know well how professional and good he was with his company and support for our programs.  What I will remember though is how much he loved his grand kids and family."

"A bright light in this world was turned off in the middle of the night."

Joanie and the Mason Family would again like to thank you for your kind words, flowers, cards, and letters.  We will all miss Al greatly but will carry on his legacy and the mission of MTSC.
Review Teams
Are You Getting Valuable Feedback?

Review Teams are critical to the Proposal process to ensure you are on the right track to submitting a compliant, winning Proposal.  Whether your capture is large enough to warrant conducting the full series of Blue, Black Hat, Pink, Red, and Gold Teams or you only focus on a Pink and Red Team; it is critical that you ensure you are getting valuable feedback from the review teams.

With budget cutbacks we see more and more companies limiting the number of reviews, shortening the length of the review, conducting the review inhouse, and using more company personnel than outside consultants as Review Team participants.  MTSC recommends the following considerations for Reviews.

1.  The Capture and Proposal Managers should determine the number of reviews required to prepare a winning proposal.

2.  Plan enough time for the Review Team members to properly review the proposal.  Typically, a good reviewer should be able to review 75-100 pages per day.  If you rush reviewers you may not receive the feedback you need to prepare a winning Proposal.

3.  The use of outside consultants to manage your reviews enables unbiased feedback to the Proposal Team and senior management.

4.  The use of outside consultants/subject matter experts (SMEs) as Review Team members may fill a "gap" in expertise you need for the review and add to the credibility of an unbiased review.

MTSC has the experience and capability to conduct and/or participate on your Review Teams.  Contact us to discuss Review Team Management, Review Team members, and SMEs.  We want to help you WIN Government contracts!
