Here are the taxable sales results from Maine Revenue Services. We maintain comparisons with several other cities and towns: Portland, S. Portland, Kittery, Boothbay Harbor, Camden, Bar Harbor, Rockland, Rockport, Ogunquit, Brunswick.
· Total taxable sales in Freeport increased 4.77% in 2010 over 2009.
· Total taxable sales in the state increased 2.84% in 2010 over 2009.
· Freeport had a larger increase that any town in our comp set except
Ogunquit (8.79%)
Total taxable sales in Freeport were down in both 2008 and 2009.
· Total RETAIL sales increased in Freeport 5.98% in 2010 over 2009.
· Total RETAIL sales in the state increased 3.02% in 2010 over 2009.
· Total RESTAURANT sales in Freeport decreased .37% in 2010 over 2009.
· Total RESTAURANT sales in the state increased 3.34% in 2010 over 2009.
2010 was the first year since 2001 that we have seen a decrease in restaurant sales.
· Total LODGING sales in Freeport increased by 5.19% in 2010 over 2009.
· Total LODGING sales in the state increased by 7.86% in 2010 over 2009. |
