Earthquake & Emergency Awareness

 Prepare now for an earthquake in B.C.We live in an earthquake zone where over 1200 small earthquakes are recorded each year. There is a real risk that one of these could be "THE BIG ONE." It could happen at any time of the day or night; on the weekend or a workday, in any season and in any weather. May 6-12 is Emergency Preparedness Week in Canada. Use this week to take action to prepare you and your family for any emergency. Do not rely on "First Responders" such as Fire Fighters, EMS or Police to be able to respond quickly. During a major incident they will be unable to keep up with demand and so it is essential to be prepared for a minimum of 72 hours without power, water and gas service to your house.
