Our Client's Comments: "...thorough approach..."
"Peter Hansen was very professional and a pleasure to work with. He provided us with a considerable amount of his time (in excess of 4 hours) to inspect our new (or not so new!) single family home. He was detail oriented and thorough in his approach. Moreover, his end report was clear and organized. He took the time to review his feedback, concerns and explanations with us; which were easily understood. We were extremely pleased with Peter's services and would highly recommend him."    ~ Mark and Kristen Skeans

Going Green around the Home

Go Green - read full article I have sourced out a BC Hydro website that has excellent green tips for your home.

Here are some tips that can help you go green in the home:

  1. Do not use your in sink disposal, use a backyard composter
  2. Recycle as much as possible
  3. Return Styrofoam packaging to the store where you purchased it
  4. Return CFL light bulbs to certain retailers (London Drugs or Home Depot) or recycling depots
  5. Recycle food scraps if your Municipality has that program in effect. More and more are, with several scheduled to start later this year. Check with your city's website to see if they accept this material.
Read the full article for list of recycling depots in North Vancouver (and all BC) and a complete list of all possible materials that are recyclable. Plus some more tips from BC Hydro's "Power Smart" choices.

I hope you find this information useful and please GO GREEN!!

Strata/Condominium/Townhouse Inspection
Hansen Home Inspections - please visit our website
When it comes to Strata complexes, some home inspectors will only inspect the living area for you, and charge the same or more for the inspection. At Hansen Home Inspections we are proud to say that when we inspect a Strata property we not only inspect the unit, we also inspect the common areas as well as the outside of the complex.

The majority of concerns/problems occur on the outside of any building. We have all heard of leaky condos and how much that can cost to repair. Don't just rely on the Strata minutes. It is always best to have your inspector check the entire building during the course of the inspection.

Hansen Home Inspections Ltd. is a licensed professional home inspection firm in North Vancouver, BC. We serve buyers, sellers and those maintaining their homes in the North Shore and Metro Vancouver areas. If you would like to discuss my services please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
