Nutrition Tip from the Head Trainer:

Trent Humphreys

Your nutrition is not simply about counting calories and points.  It's about quality.  Always remember: You are what you eat.  Your body can do amazing things if fueled properly.  The goal is to boost your metabolism first thing in the morning with a quick workout and a great breakfast. Then maintain that metabolism throughout the day by fueling it with quality snacks and correct portion-sized meals every 2-3 hours throughout the day.  Its that simple.  Evenly distribute nutrition to keep your body from being on a roller coaster ride.  Stay within the caloric intake you need in order to accomplish your ultimate goal.

Lets be honest.  Do you really believe that someone who drinks 2,000 calories of Coca-Cola per day will look like another person who consumes 2,000 calories of fresh vegetables, lean protein, healthy fats, and low-glycemic carbs? I think not.

Please attend our FREE nutrition seminar on Tuesday, May 31.

You have two options:

11:30am and/or 6:30pm

The most important role of a parent is that of life coach to his or her child. Parents coach their children in all areas of life including proper etiquette, social interaction, academics, and nutrition. Parental involvement and support is necessary for a child's success in tennis, or any endeavor in life.

Member of the Month

Dave Johnson

Dave is one of our most dedicated fitness class participants. He is a semi-retired Ecusta chemical engineer who now is a consultant for American Test Lab.  He and his wife Marilyn enjoy spending their free time with their grown children and vacationing on the coast.

Dave begins his day by attending one or more of the club's morning fitness classes. He admits it's hard for him to exercise on his own, and says it is the variety of classes and the outstanding instructors at the club that get him going. Moderation in both exercise and diet are the keys to his mobility, slim physique and active mind. He jokingly will tell you, " I'm doing what I can to live to be 120!"

Dave's classmates admire and are motivated by his dedication, enthusiasm, charm and appreciation.
