FEATURED PET
Maggie
Maggie
The Spring 2011 Featured Pet is Maggie.  Maggie is a 10 year old Poodle. She loves to play with her "babies"-her toys- and go for walks. She is small but spunky!  Each time a car drives past us while we're walking, Maggie stands up on her hind legs & watches the car until it passes.  I think she's trying to make herself bigger & telling the car to back off!  Maggie lives with her family, Kathy, Kevin, & Alex LaGrow.

Thank your Vet!

April 30th is World Vet Day.  Don't forget to show your Veterinarian how much you value the care he/she gives to the animal members of your family.  Drop a card in the mail or drop off some treats at the office.  Your token of thanks is sure to be appreciated!
Greetings!

Spring has sprung!  How exciting was it to open the windows & enjoy the fresh, warm breeze yesterday?  I was thrilled by the sounds of nature - birds chirping and frogs croaking - and by the sights of nature - Robins bouncing around & my dogs lying in the grass.  I hope you've witnessed some of these beautiful signs of Spring too.
Pet First Aid course offered

April is National Pet First Aid Awareness Month. Would you know how to administer First Aid to your dog or cat if needed? Lucky Dogs Canine Services has organized a Pet First Aid course to be taught at SAVES at 77 Fennell St. in Skaneateles on Saturday, May 14th from 8:30am - 12:30pm. The course will be taught by Brian Murphy, a certified instructor with the Cayuga County chapter of the American Red Cross.  Learning & practice will be perfomed on dog and cat mannequins.  At the end of the 4-hour course, participants will be certified in Pet First Aid, and will take home either a dog- or cat-specific first aid manual & DVD. The cost is $45 per person, and checks should be made payable to the American Red Cross. Space is limited to 15 persons. To register for this course, contact Amy Schiek of Lucky Dogs Canine Services at 663-5579 or amy@luckydogsservices.com.

15th Annual Pet Walk & Festival

Sunday, May 15, 2011
11am to 3pm
Rain or Shine!

Austin Park Pavilion
State Street Road, Skaneateles

This event is held annually to raise money for homeless animals residing at the shelter as they await their new families. With operating costs increasing, this fundraiser is vitally important to the shelter's success.

The Group Pet Walk will begin at 12:15pm, with registration opening at 11:15am. Pledge forms and donations will be turned in during registration. The walk is a one-mile loop down to Genesee Street and back up to the pavilion. Upon returning walkers can enjoy an afternoon filled with demonstrations, exhibits, contests, raffles, pet vendors, breed rescues, face painting, caricatures, music and great food.

New!  Refer-a-Friend program

You are Lucky Dogs' most valuable advertising source!  Nothing makes me happier than to hear a new client tell me that they heard great things about Lucky Dogs from a friend who is already a client.  Now, you can reward yourself and your friends when you spread the good news.

Beginning this month, Lucky Dogs Canine Services is introducing a Refer-a-Friend program.  For each new client you refer, you will earn $5 off for a future service.  And your friend will earn $5 off their first service booking.  No limits -- refer as many friends as you like. Just make sure they mention you as their referral!
