Dangers of Drug Use in the Workplace
Did you know...
An estimated 48 million Americans receive prescription pain killers, and studies have shown that few primary care physicians take the time to preform routine tests that would detect problems. Patients considered high risk for developing problems with pain medication included those who were less than 45 years old, had drug or alcohol use disorders, used tobacco or were diagnosed with a mental health disorder.
Of the 1,612 patients, almost one-fourth of them received refills more than a week before their original prescriptions ran out on two or more occasions.
And even though prescription pill addiction is on the rise, drugs such as marijuana, cocaine and others, as well as alcohol, are still heavily used.
What can you do to combat these and other statistics? Attend our webinar on March 23 at 1 PM CST. We will cover the trends of drugs in the workplace, the dangers of employees who abuse drugs, and actions companies can take to protect themselves.
