"Swing for the Jungle School"

Charity Fund Raiser Golf Tournament

We are hosting this golf tournament in an effort to raise funds, which will go directly to the health and education of children at the Jungle School in Honduras. Currently there are 96 students attending regular classes at the school, up from 56 the previous year. Many students attending the Jungle School, walk over 2 hours each way just to go to school each day. The school provides a nutritious lunch every day, for many students, it's the only meal they will receive that day.

We anticipate a minimum of 120 golfers, with hole-in-one prizes including a 2010 Ford Mustang and a new Honda motorcycle. There will be a shotgun start at 1:00pm Saturday afternoon (registration 12:00pm), with the final foursome finishing at approximately 6:00pm. On course competitions will include; hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest drive, closest to the line, and lowest score. Afterward, there will be a dinner with guest speakers, and prizes to be awarded via raffles and draws. At this time, we are working to secure notable sports celebrities, past & present, who will be in attendance to speak with golfers, sign autographs and take pictures. Further details soon to follow.

Want to get involved? We need your help in a number of ways. This is the first of what we hope will be an annual event assisting many projects throughout Central & South America. We require a number of volunteers to help us ensure the success of the event. If you would like to volunteer your time to assist in the organizing of this event, or would like to volunteer at the tournament, please contact us. We are also seeking various levels of sponsorship that are outlined in the PDF Flyer located below.

About Us
H.O.L.A. - Health & Opportunities for Latin America is a Canadian non-profit organization, (currently applying for "Registered Charity" status). Founded by Gord Collins and his son Daniel Collins, as the charitable division of All Access Volunteers. H.O.L.A.'s primary objective is to raise funds to provide assistance with health and education to various non-governmental organizations throughout Latin America.

About The Jungle School
Helping Honduras Kids opened the Jungle School doors in February 2007. Located on a steep jungle mountainside on the lower Cangrejal River called Herradura, near the coastal city of La Ceiba, Honduras, Jungle School has 96 students attending regular classes. Many students attending the school walk over 2 hours to get to and from school each day. Most of these children live in remote, isolated areas and face poor economic conditions.  Their families rely mostly on agriculture crops and when the crops do poorly, most struggle to find food. The school provides a nutritious lunch every day, and for many students, it is the only meal they will receive that day.
