Volunteer at an Elementary School in Granada, Nicaragua

Granada
NEW! We have recently secured a partnership with a wonderful organization in Granada, Nicaragua.

Located on the outskirts of the beautiful colonial town of Granada, Nicaragua, this opportunity gives the volunteer a chance to work with children one on one, not only in the school, but within its community as a whole.

There are currently seven rural schools associated with this project; all just outside Granada. Volunteers live in town and travel out to the schools each day by bus, bicycle or on foot.

Volunteer duties include assisting in a kindergarten class, helping students with reading, writing and math, and leading group activities such as sports or arts & crafts. In addition volunteers may spend time after school tutoring children in their homes, playing and coaching team sports, and taking children to see the local doctor or dentist.

There are also volunteers who teach English to children in grades 3 to 6. The English team will usually work in several schools during the course of a week. The hours vary, and include lesson planning as well as face-to-face teaching. There are three groups teaching English, each consisting of 2 or 3 volunteers.

Various Volunteer Opportunities in Buenos Aires, Argentina

NEW! We have recently secured a partnership with an organization in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This partnership includes 4 fantastic programs:

Day Centre for Poverty Stricken Children: This centre was founded for the purpose of supporting the needs of poverty stricken children in the local community. There are a total of 60 children who attend the centre. Most come from single parent families, where at times, not even their basic needs are met. Many of these children have been abused. The children are given meals, participate in educational activities, sports, and art (music/ theatre) workshops.

Children's Home: This home houses 45 children who have been taken away from their families due to the following reasons: limited or no financial resources to care for the child, physical or sexual abuse of the child, or death of parent. Some children have been placed in the home because they were found homeless living on the streets.

Centre for Mentally and Physically Challenged: A day centre enabling children and adults to participate in a wide range of activities including; helping an on site bakery, helping an on site catering service, assisting with gardening, participating in various workshops, and playing on the official futbol team of the foundation. The attendees at this centre actually get a small hourly fee for their work, giving them a great sense of self worth.

Sports Project: Created for kids in impoverished areas of Buenos Aires. The primary goal of this project is to use futbol, baseball, volleyball, swimming and other activities to get kids off the streets and help keep them away from drugs and alcohol.

AAV in Partnership With C.A.R.E. Presents
"Swing for the Jungle School"

All Access Volunteers in Partnership with C.A.R.E. (Central America Relief Effort) will be hosting a
Jungle School 2008Charity Fundraiser Golf Tournament Sunday October 3, 2010 at the Royal Ontario Golf Club just west of Toronto, Canada.

We are organizing this golf tournament in an effort to raise funds, 100% of which will go directly to the health and education of children at the Jungle School in Honduras. Currently, there are 96 students attending regular classes at the school, up from 56 last year. Many students attending the Jungle School, walk over 2 hours each way just to go to school each day. The school regularly provides a nutritious lunch. For many students, it is the only meal they will receive that day.

We anticipate a minimum of 120 golfers, with hole-in-one prizes that include: a 2010 Ford Mustang and a new Honda motorcycle. There will be a shotgun start at 8am on Sunday morning, with the final foursome finishing at approximately 1:30pm. On course competitions will include; hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest drive, closest to the line, and lowest score. Afterward, there will be a luncheon with guest speakers, and prizes to be awarded via raffles and draws. At this time, we are working to secure notable sports celebrities, past & present, who will be in attendance to speak with golfers, sign autographs and take pictures. Further details soon to follow.

Want to get involved? We need your help in a number of ways. This is the first of what we hope will be an annual event assisting many projects throughout Central & South America. We require a number of volunteers to help us ensure the success of the event. If you would like to volunteer your time to assist in the organizing of the event, or would like to volunteer at the tournament itself, please contact us. We are also seeking various levels of sponsorship. For sponsorship information Click Here.

Golfers who register by July 1, will be eligible for an early bird draw!

We look forward to your continued support and effort in making this a resounding success for the benefit of the Jungle School Children.
