McClurg Remodeling & Construction Services February 2011 Newsletter

Greetings!

Former fire fighter Scott McClurg has joined forces with his colleagues at the Syracuse Fire Department to nominate a local family to the ABC network show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Scott is coordinating efforts to bring the show to Central New York to build a home for the Johnson Family of Tully.

Dave and Diana Johnson are an inspiration and represent the best of our community. Dave worked with the Syracuse Fire Department for 35 years and served with distinction and valor. He and Diana have been advocates for the adoption of hard to place children. Over the past three decades the Johnsons adopted 14 children to add to their family of five. Ten children currently reside in their modest three bedroom, two bath home and many have special needs. We can't think of a more deserving family.

Local ABC affiliate Channel 9 featured two stories about the family and the community's efforts. We will keep you posted on the Johnsons as this project progresses. Many people and organizations are working on behalf of the Johnsons to "move that bus to Syracuse."  Central New York is truly a community with a heart.

Have a happy Valentine's Day.
