Welcome to Anderson County Chamber of Commerce E- News
Last Thursday and Friday I attended Ky Chamber Executive Training. I have to say it was a productive two days. Meeting other Executive Directors from around the Bluegrass, sharing information on our Chamber activities and programs was a pleasant experience. But listening to all the speakers that spoke on everything from"Designing on a Dime" ( and I do believe their dime and our dime does not have the same value!) to "Grassroots Advocacy" - my favorite, was very informative and worth the two day trip!
What I learned that was.. fun, and I am so excited about.. is to be able to offer live stream video...yes..you read this right..LIVE video, of let's say..a ribbon cutting or perhaps you would like to showcase your business. Those that can't make it can actually view it LIVE!
That to me, is so cool! And those that know how much I love my Flip video camera can probably see me now with a big grin of excitement on my face!
Now that I am back down to earth..... Your Chamber website is being updated to a new look. It will feature our Community better. It will have a cleaner more professional look, be more informative to visitors, and an informative business tool for you, Chamber members. Once this new site is up I encourage you to view your listing,( or do it now ) and send me your updated information, also send me a few words describing your business so I can add this to your listing as well.
I will be out of the office tomorrow Friday 30th. I will be on a womens religious retreat for the weekend. Much needed rest!
So come Monday you should have a well informed ( KyTraining) and peaceful Executive Director......for 3 days at least!
Have a great weekend
Catherine
We all agree that this is a great community. In order to keep the community unique and vibrant, it requires supporting each other. The ACCOC would not be the same without our business community. |

You were sent a survey request on who you think would best serve the business community as Judge Executive. This is for the Primary. The Primary candidates are Judge Steve Cornish and John Wayne Conway. If you were not at the Forum Thursday April the 22nd you can view the video on our chamber website:
We will host another forum this fall, this will include the winner of the Democrat Primary and Rebulician , Chip Chambers, and Independent, Donna Drury. This time will be announced at a later date.
We also had a Sheriff Forum. That video will be posted soon our our site.
Please take the time to vote if you have not done so. This Poll does not show who voted for who. Your name does not appear on the results. It also only calculates your vote once. So if you try to vote more than once it will not work.
Poll ends Friday 30th at noon.
The results of this poll does not necessarily reflect the position of the Andeson County Chamber Board of Directors or it's staff. This message contains confidential information and is intended only for the individual named. If you are not the intended recipient you are notified that disclosing, copying, distributing or taking any action in reliance on the contents of this information is strictly prohibited.

CENSUS UPDATE
If you would like to see how your county (as well as its assorted communities) fared in terms of the number of questionnaires that were returned by the households that received them, please visit the following page at the Census Bureau's Web site:
http://2010.census.gov/2010census/take10map
Go to the page and click on "View participation rates" (look for a blue arrow toward the right side of the display). This will bring up an interactive map of the United States. You will then be able to click on Kentucky (which, at 75 percent, beat the national figure of 72 percent). From that point, you will be able to view the rates for your county, city, census tract, etc. by following the on-screen instructions. (A quick glance shows Anderson County at 76 percent and the City of Lawrenceburg also at 76 percent.)

Gov. Beshear discusses possible government shutdown
Warns of impact on private sector
In a Capitol press conference earlier today, Gov. Steve Beshear described the possibility of having no enacted state budget before the beginning of the next fiscal year as "cataclysmic."
