As regards to the decree # 148 for year 2011 of increasing the National Parks visit fees and which is suspended - Upon an official request from CDWS - until the 1st of September 2012.
CDWS received several complains from diving and water sports centers asking for clarification regarding the current collection of the new fees for Ras mohamed National Park.
Kindly be informed that CDWS board contacted - since more than two month - his Excellency the Minister of Tourism, his Excellency the Minister of Environment and his Excellency South Sinai Governor requesting to stop and re-consider this decree, but due to the unstable political situation and the change of the government/Ministry, there was No fast response to CDWS request.
CDWS highlighted the importance of sharing all concerned parties such as the Minister of Tourism, South Sinai governorate, the Egyptian Tourism Federation, the hotels establishment chamber and the travel agencies in issue this decision since their input will be very positive in the implementation of this decree.
In addition, CDWS is appealing to be aware of the renovation plan of the diving and water sport sites and its timetable program, to appreciate the fees amplify, to be implemented ONLY when the Tourism situation is back to the previous rates.
CDWS will work hard with the related entities to reach the annulment of the above mentioned decree and will keep you informed.
