Dear CDWS Members
Greetings.
Please note that CDWS appointed technical and professional employees needed for the Chamber organizational structure in order to implement the common vision and objectives of the Ministry of Tourism and CDWS for the benefit of the industry based on the approval of the Ministry of Tourism and the Board members of the Tourism Fund institution to support the chamber with the necessary financial support to fund the administrative and organizational structure of the chamber for a period of five years as of March 2010.
CDWS employees were shocked that during the meetings with the representatives of the Tourism Fund institution, the legal advisor of the minister of Tourism and the Minister First Assistant on 15/6/2011 and the Tourism Fund's board of directors meeting on 28/6/2011 of their decision to stop the financial support to the chamber that was previously approved for no reason as of July 2011.
Accordingly, 39 employees were dismissed due to CDWS inability to meet the financial and contractual obligations due to the reasons referred to the Ministry's vision that the ministry will provide all services needed by the sector through the various branches of the ministry in the governorates.
Therefore CDWS Employees decided to be on strike as of today and found it important to thank you all for your constructive efforts in achieving the mission and objectives of your Chamber, however we were honored to continue to work to maintain the unprecedented achievements that happened with your valuable participation, CDWS employees announce to you with deep sorrow and regret that they will not be able to continue in providing the necessary services and assistance to members and the sector, and for any information and services we advise you to go to The Ministry of Tourism branches (contact details here) and offices in the governorates or the General Administration of diving and new activities department in the ministry.
