How to Welcome a New Pastor

A change in leadership can be filled with both anxiety and excitement. Need a few tips? Read "50 Ways to Welcome a New Paster" from the Lewis Center for Church Leadership. Here is a sampling:

#3: Invite church members individually to send cards of welcome and encouragement.

#34: Continue to remember your new pastor and family in your daily prayers.

#35: Introduce yourself to the pastor repeatedly! You have one name to learn, your pastor has many names to learn.

For a chuckle, read author and activist Brian McLaren's Ten Commandments for Welcoming a New Pastor.

In case you missed the special Enews that went out earlier introducing Pastor Mike and his family,

Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 8th! Plans for a welcome celebration are in the works. In true New Hope fashion, there will be cake!
Mission News: Feed My Starving Children
Saturday, July 21st, 10:00am-noon

Make a big difference in a few hours! With Feed My Starving Children, you can volunteer to pack food and be a vital part of an international ministry. It takes only two hours of your time.  A powerful way to live out the Gospel!  Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God's hungry children. Children and Adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children and the meals are shipped to food distribution partners in 70 countries around the world.

This is an exciting, energetic, fun, informative and rewarding mission.  What will it cost me? It costs nothing. Donations are always appreciated.  What will I be doing?  In a two hour session, some carry ingredients (chicken/minerals, veggies, soy, and rice) to stations to keep them filled and some carry filled manna boxes to a gathering area. Most will hand-pack meals - three people pour ingredients into a funnel, two people alternate holding a bag underneath, one to two people weigh the bag, two people seal the bag, and a person fills a box. It's that easy! Sign up now and be a part of the Fox Cities MobilePack feeding Starving Children. Making a Lasting Impact.

More information and the sign-up sheet is on the Feed My Starving Children Poster in the hallway. Questions or sign up by emailing Roxy at gbroxy99@hotmail.com.
