Santify Youth Band to play at New Hope
Santify Youth Band
New Hope is pleased that "Sanctify", the Christian Rock Band, will be playing for us during worship on Sunday!  The band has several original numbers and will be sharing some of those along with familiar songs written by others.  The band is comprised of Jon Kresin, Jack Fricke and Andrew Lee along with Steve Kresin on the drums.  Jon, Jack and Steve will look very familiar to you as we are fortunate enough to have them play with our Praise Team most Sundays!

Here's a blurb from their Facebook page:
"Jack plays the bass groves and vocals and Drew plays the attractive Guitar parts and the keys. We've been working very hard this summer to do a DEMO recording of our debut album. We believe in all the songs we play and hope they are inspirational and enjoyable yet full of rock at the same time.  Our music is "Thinking Music" because it's all been written from experiences that everyone has had at some point in their lives. We use the music as a tool to try and open peoples minds to difficult situations and experiences."

Sunday, Nov. 13th at 9:30 a.m.

Mission of the Month - Food for the Holidays
For the months of November and December we will be collecting food for the local food pantry.  In addition to the extra holiday needs, they are always in short supply of the basics including cereal, peanut butter, canned foods, toilet paper and personal hygiene products.  Just bring your items to church with you and we'll make sure they are delivered.

"For A Child Has Been Born For Us..."
New Hope's Advent Devotional Booklet
New Hope will be putting together a devotional booklet for the Advent season this year, and we need your stories and memories.  Think of a Christmas (or Christmas season) that was particularly meaningful to you, write down your thoughts (in 200 words or less) and mail or email them to the church office so that they arrive no later than next Wednesday. (November 16th)

You might consider a story when you or your family struggled financially and share your story how you celebrated Christmas in spite of the lack of resources.  Or, consider a time when a loved one was ill, or perhaps had recently died, and share your story of how you observed Christmas at that time.  We all have special Christmas memories and stories, and we hope that you will share one (or perhaps two) of yours with your church family to enjoy as together we prepare to celebrate Jesus' birth once again.

Rev. Barb will organize the stories, add appropriate scripture and see that the booklet is available for pick up on Sunday, November 27th which is the first Sunday in Advent.

We need your stories and thoughts by November 16th

What's New In Sunday School?
On Sunday the kids will be learning about Joseph and soon they'll start practicing for the Christmas Pageant during the Sunday School hour.

Note:  Our Sunday School hour starts at 10:30 (as soon as the worship service is over the kids head to room 104).  During the Sunday School hour parents are encouraged to either stay with the kids and enjoy learning with them, attend an adult Bible Study being offered at the same time, or to run errands and come back for the children at 11:30.  Confirmation is also offered at the time in case you'd like to sit in and learn more about our Methodist heritage.

Our annual Christmas Pageant will be December 18th during worship at 9:30.
Invite grandma now!

Church Cookbooks Are the BEST!
You know how when you want to make something really yummy, the first cookbook you reach for is one compiled by a church?  Well we had so many requests for the recipes from our chili cook-off that a group here at New Hope decided to collect them, along with your other favorite recipes and put them all in one spot in a New Hope Cookbook.  We are asking that you email us your favorite recipes as soon as possible so we can include them.  We'd love to make the book available to you December 4th at the cookie walk!

Please email your favorite recipes to Christy Aniol at:  anioljcje@sbcglobal.net
