Eastern European & Balkan Consultation .
| This week Pastor Greg is a presenter at the Eastern European & Balkan Consultation being held in Alton, IL. The purpose of the bi-annual conference is to bring together those involved in partnerships to share ideas and encourage growth for the In Mission Together program sponsored by GBGM (General Board of Global Ministries) which is part of the global United Methodist Church and based in New York city.
New Hope and Russe are currently being modeled as "poster children" for sharing worship via video conferencing. GBGM is encouraging other partners to get involved and use the technology that's available as a means to strengthen their connections.
This photo is a screen shot as we tested a new video program Thursday morning. The program will be demonstrated live on Friday morning to those attending the conference. Shown is Daniel Topalski from our partner church in Russe, Patti Bacher (New Hope's Director of Ministries), Patrick Friday and Sushil Bhujbal from GBGM. The program worked great and will be an excellent tool in the future!
New Hope and Russe will share worship together again on Christmas Eve morning.

New Hope's Advent Devotional Booklet
| "FOR A CHILD HAS BEEN BORN FOR US....."
Help us spread the Good News! New Hope will be putting together a devotional booklet for the Advent season this year, and we need your stories and memories. Think of a Christmas (or Christmas season) that was particularly meaningful to you, write down your thoughts (in 200 words or less) and mail or email them to the church office so that they arrive no later than Wednesday, November 16th.
You might consider a story when you or your family struggled financially and share your story how you celebrated Christmas in spite of the lack of resources. Or, consider a time when a loved one was ill, or perhaps had recently died, and share your story of how you observed Christmas at that time. We all have special Christmas memories and stories, and we hope that you will share one (or perhaps two) of yours with your church family to enjoy as together we prepare to celebrate Jesus' birth once again. Rev Barb will organize the stories, add appropriate scripture and see that the booklet is available for pick up on Sunday, November 27th which is the first Sunday in Advent.
Note: Be sure to include your name(s) and phone number in case Barb has any questions.

What's New In Sunday School?
|
 | | The kids are learning fun songs and sang for us during worship last Sunday. |
The next couple weeks the kids will be learning about Joseph, son of Jacob, as told in the book of Genesis.
Note: Our Sunday School hour starts at 10:30 (as soon as the worship service is over the kids head to room 104). During the Sunday School hour parents are encouraged to either stay with the kids and enjoy learning with them, attend an adult Bible Study being offered at the same time, or to run errands and come back for the children at 11:30. Confirmation is also offered at the time in case you'd like to sit in and learn more about our Methodist heritage. |

New Pictorial Directories Ready to Be Picked Up!
| Our church photo directory is here! You can pick up your directory starting this Sunday. We are suggesting a donation of $10 to cover the cost of color-printing. Steve Kresin has donated hours and hours of time taking the photographs and designing the directory - we are grateful for his help!

How Can You Support Our Youth Program?
The Answer.... With Pizza!
| One way you can help support our youth program is to help keep them supplied in PIZZA! Next time you are at the grocery store, pick up a couple frozen pizzas and stick them in the freezer here at church. The kids enjoy having them on Sunday evenings and will greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness!

|
Help Needed with Gift Card Program
| We are in need of additional volunteers to help with our Scrip program to take and distribute the orders on Sunday mornings - a rotation schedule will be a great help! If you are able to volunteer please contact Patti Bacher or Christy Aniol.
