Hi ,

I had a really interesting conversation this morning with a friend who was encouraging me to remember to take time to reflect, be still and to listen to what God is saying to me and to recognize what he needs me to do.  We get caught up in our "busy" and we forget or delay our conversations with God.  It was a great reminder and a perfect way for me to start my day.  So with that - I encourage all of you to stop what you are doing for even just 3 minutes a day.  Chat with God.  Thank him for all that is good and ask how he can best use YOU today.  You'll be surprised how this small thing can center you amid all your "busy-ness".

Blessings my friends.

See you in church!   I'll save you a seat.

Patti

BTW - I really need nursery volunteers for 9 and 10:30 this week as well as a video tech for 10:30.  Can you help?

We Need Your Help Friday and Saturday!

New Hope is hosting our first community rummage sale and we need your help in a variety of ways.

We need your TIME
Friday, April 15th set up starting at 8:30 a.m.
Saturday the 16th from 7:00 am through out the day in whatever length of time you are able (ie: 2 hours, 4 hours, the whole day)
Email Christy to let her know when you are available or sign up on the sheet on the back table.

We need your STUFF - the sale will be held in the large room around in the back of our building, so we have lots of space.
Bring items - lots of it - for us to sell!  Clean, freshly washed clothing items, sorted by gender and adult or child.  Please mark your items with what you think is a fair price.  (Don't worry, if you run short on time we'll do it for you, but it would be very helpful if you can do that for us.)

We are also in need of clothing racks, hangers, boxes (for sorting shoes, purses, toys etc) plastic grocery bags, newspaper (for wrapping fragile items) and larger trash bags.  Please let us know if you can help with these items as well.

Items can be dropped off the next two weeks at church or for large item drop off contact Christy to make arrangements to drop it off directly in the back room.

Christy Aniol is heading up this event and can be reached by email at anioljcje@sbcglobal.net or by phone at 339-8090.

6 or 7 New Tables Still Needed

THANK YOU for your immediate response to this need!  We have received enough donations so far to purchase 5 news tables.  (Thank you Anthony Kosidowski for meeting me at Sam's with your truck and hauling them to church!)

In case you missed the info earlier ...we have a HUGE need for new tables.  The lightweight kind that can be handled by one person.  (The tables we have were all cast offs from other churches who replaced them with new, unbroken, lightweight ones.)  We are so appreciative to have had them for the past four years and we have put them to VERY good use, but recently we have had a couple injuries trying to handle them and it's time to replace them with something easier to move around.

We have already purchased two 8-foot tables and three 6-foot tables.  The ones we are getting are $80 for an 8 foot table (we could use one more) and $50 for a 6 foot table (we could use about 7 more).

If you would like to donate to help purchase new tables please put it in the offering plate and write "TABLES" on the envelope or on your check.

April's Monthly Mission - "The Closet"

Making A Difference In Our Community...One Month At A Time

The Women's and the Men's Closet are two local charitable organizations that provide work-appropriate clothing for low-income women/men who are seeking employment, in a new job or going to school.  In addition to clothing, The Closet offers coats, shoes, accessories, jewelry and undergarments.  The goal of the program is to prepare women/men for employment and boost their self-esteem by helping them "dress for success."

The ClosetWhile you are looking through your homes for items that would work for the rummage sale, if you have any suits, dressy business clothes, shoes, accessories that you think could help those in need dress for success in interviews and the job, please donate these toward this cause.
Bring your items to Karen Zarembka or let Christy Aniol (and the rummage sale crew) know which items they need to route for our April mission closet.

The Prayer Corner

Exploring Prayer During Lent  - WHY do you pray?

We would like to engage you in a special prayer time as a way of observing lent this year.  Each week we will have another opportunity for you to share your prayer life with others.  It will be interesting and a great way to increase our prayer habits as we learn the what, why, when, where and how of New Hope's prayer life.  No one is required to participate, but we urge you to consider reaching out to others in this manner.

This week's question is:  WHEN?  When do you pray?  When is it important to you?

You can fill out a sheet in the bulletin and leave it on the back table or click here to send an email.  Feel free to sign it or indicate that you'd like to be anonymous.  We will be posting your thoughts on the Health Ministries bulletin board the church office between now and Easter.  Be sure to take a minute to stop and read what others have to say.

Prayer does not change God, but changes the one who prays.

The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to

change the nature of the one who prays.  -Soren Keirkegaard.

The Life of Jesus Bible Study

"I don't know enough about the Bible to be in a Bible study!"

Ever feel like you don't know enough about the Bible to be in a Bible study?  Then this class is for you!  The Life & Teachings of Jesus, led by Ruth Hunter, starts with the basics as we learn about Jesus' life, what he did while here on earth, and what he had to say.  The class is at 9:00 and then afterward stay for the 10:30 worship which is now identical to the 9:00 service.
