Greetings!

Last Sunday was such fun!  Worship, the brat fry, Sunday School, bible studies, youth group, feeding the families at Freedom House, a surprise renewal of wedding vows all on a sunny September day!  I guess you could say that we've really
GOT THE BALL ROLLING  here at New Hope!  (If you missed the video last Sunday you can see it again by clicking the link.)

This Sunday will be exciting too!  We are celebrating World Communion Sunday with our Bulgarian partner church live on the internet via Skype.  We'll be singing, praying and worshiping together in both languages, which is always interesting and exciting. 

I'm sure you'll want to be here!  Feel free to invite a friend, bring a neighbor, or grab someone from the grocery store and bring them along!

Fall is here and we've got the ball rolling!

We Need Help Saturday!
Hand Out Balloons at Ledgefest 
 
Ledgefest is a fun family event held at Olde School Square and we need your help handing out balloons and telling people about the cool stuff happening at New Hope.  If you are available just show up and look for the "red canopy tent" that was recently donated to us for just these kind of events!  Jim and Karen Zarembka will be there to put you to work. 

Olde School Square is located about a mile east of church on the corner of Chicago St./Dickinson Rd/Cty G and County GV/Limekiln Rd.  It's where "The Ice House" is at.
We Are Worshipping with Russe Sunday
Live via the internet at 9 and 10:30
 
This Sunday is World Communion Sunday and we will be sharing communion with our partners in Russe, Bulgaria live via Skype at both the 9:00 and 10:30 worship services.  It is always so joyful and celebratory to share worship with our partners as we pray and sing in both languages.

Yoga Classes Start This Sunday
Sundays at 4:00

Christian Yoga, led by Joni Van Drisse, will start this Sunday at 4:00 p.m.  The class meets Sundays through the fall and winter. 
 
Come for an hour of stretching, strengthening and relaxation as we practice basic yoga poses and relaxation techniques.  Participants will need comfortable clothing and a yoga sticky mat, and should be able to get up and down from the floor with ease.  Any questions contact the church office. 
Middle School Youth Bonfire
Tuesday, Oct 12th at 6:00 pm at Kruzicki's

Bring a couple friends to a bonfire hosted at Kris and Mark Kruzicki's home (2347 Libal Street) from 6 - 7 pm on October 12th.  Hang out by the fire and roast GIANT marshmallows.  Good times!
Warm A Heart By Sending A Card
Wednesday, Oct. 6th at 7:00 p.m.

The "Handwritten Prayer" Heartwarmers group meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month (Oct 6th) to craft lovely cards you can send to those needing encouragement, happy wishes or congratulations. What a wonderful way to touch longtime or future friends.  
 
It is not necessary for you to be artistic!  Melanie Frohling has prepared "kits" and samples for you to follow exactly or to use as a means to spur your creativity.  Cost is $5 a month to defray material costs. 
 
Bring a friend and join us for a relaxing evening of card making and fellowship.
10/10/10  Packer Party & Silent Auction
A fun event for a great cause on October 10th

10/10/10 Event
on your calendar!  Our mission committee is planning a fun event including Food, a Silent Auction and a Packer Game.  (Does it get any better than this?)  More details will follow, but ...

What we need right now are donations for the auction.  Here's what we have already:
  • Packer Windsock autographed by Ron Wolf
  • Portable DVD Player
  • Basket of Hair Care Products
  • A day or evening of child care
  • Handcrafted Jewelry
  • Baskets filled with Homemade Bakery or Sweets
 
Some suggestions you could donate are:
  • Dessert of the month
  • Movie/Popcorn Basket
  • Host a themed meal for 4, 6, 8 people
  • Lawn Care Services

Proceeds will be used to support our Bulgarian Partnership.
Connecting Couples
Topic for October... Life!
Are You and Your Relationships Aligned With Your Values?
4:30 on October 17th at New Hope 

Connecting Couples will have a dynamic meeting with Life Coach, Toni Loch, as she leads the group through exercises that will help in aligning themselves and their relationships with their values. One of the basics in personal coaching is to identify values, see how we are living them, determining what it would look like if we are living our values and develop plans that honor our values. In our busy lives we often run in all the different directions that life demands and this will be an opportunity to reflect and renew. Sign up here or on the refreshment table.

Joanne Angeli and Anthony Kosidowski are organizing the Connecting Couples events and would like your input for future ideas.  Please take a minute and take the survey to let them know what you think.  (It will take you approximately 2-3 minutes to complete.)
