Greetings!
I'm excited! We have a really fun morning planned Sunday! In addition to worship and classes, we are having an emphasis on missions. We'll have someone here to tell us about the Compassion International program and how it touches so many, we'll be cooking up brats & burgers for us and for the residents of Freedom House, the Confirmation Class is having their orientation, and in addition to all that - there may be a surprise or two! New Hope will clearly be the "Happenin' Place" to be this week!
Invite a friend, bring a neighbor, or grab someone from the grocery store and bring them along!
Fall is here and we've got the ball rolling! See you Sunday - I'll save you a seat, Patti

| Freedom House & New Hope To Enjoy Brat Fry |
'Daily Bread' to sponsor Brat Fry this Sunday
This Sunday, 'Daily Bread', New Hope's local mission outreach, will host a Brat Fry after worship to deliver that afternoon to the 60 residents at Freedom House, a shelter for homeless families. New Hope will also be providing fruit, veggies and baked beans. The Sunday School classes will be "kabobing" the fruit and arranging the veggie trays - what a great way to have our children involved in our mission outreach work!
The congregation is included too! To help fund more meals to Freedom House in the future, we'll be cooking up hamburgers, hot dogs and brats for purchase after worship. Plan on spending some extra time on Sunday to support this great cause, get a bite to eat, and visit with church friends. We'll even set up the bounce house for the kids, weather permitting.
The brat fry is open to all so be sure to invite your friends to stop by. In fact, bring them to worship with you and then stay for a burger! Good for the soul and good for the tummy!
If you'd like to volunteer to help, just let the church office know or bring your chef's apron and join them at the grill!

Confirmation Orientation on Sunday
|
Geared for students 8th grade and above Confirmation is a program where youth learn the essentials of the Christian faith and can have their questions about God answered. Your family does not need a prior membership in any church for your youth to participate - we welcome everyone.
There will be an orientation session for both parents and students on Sunday, September 26th at 11:45 a.m. in room 104. The Mission team is holding a brat fry that day so plan to support them and eat lunch with us.
The 2010 Confirmation program will meet weekly on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting October 3rd. The program focuses on living your faith and in addition to traditional learning, includes outreach activities such as a mission trip, and serving at a local pantry. Dates to note in 2010-2011:
Mission trip - Thursday & Friday, Oct. 28 - 29th (perhaps returning the 30th) Confirmation Banquet & Rehearsal - Wednesday, April 27, 2011 Confirmation - Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. |
Make Arrangements To Be In The Pictorial Directory
|
Sign Up To Have Your Photo Taken As our church family grows we want you to get to know who each other are,
so we are putting together our very first pictorial directory. Steve Kresin has put
together a schedule for taking member portraits to be included in the
pictorial directory. We'd love to have you all participate! Melanie Frohling will be working with Steve to get the info and pictures compiled, organized and sent to the printers. We appreciate their willingness to bring this idea to reality!
The times are: - Saturday, September 25th 9 AM - 1 PM - Sunday, September 26th 12 NOON - 4 PM - Saturday, October 2nd 9 AM - 1 PM
Steve
is anticipating 10 minutes or less per sitting. Your best image will
be selected for the book, and if you'd like to have your picture for
other purposes, they will be made available after production of the
book.
Check your calendar to see what date works for you and your family, then Click here to schedule your sitting.or sign up on the refreshment table on Sunday.
After it's finished, it will be fun to see everyone's pictures and learn the name of "that guy that always sits over there"!

Connecting Couples Topic for October... Life!
Are You and Your Relationships Aligned With Your Values?
| 4:30 on October 17th at New Hope Connecting Couples will have a dynamic
meeting with Life Coach, Toni Loch, as she leads the group through
exercises that will help in aligning themselves and their relationships
with their values. One of the basics in personal coaching is to
identify values, see how we are living them, determining what it would
look like if we are living our values and develop plans that honor our
values. In our busy lives we often run in all the different directions
that life demands and this will be an opportunity to reflect and renew.
Joanne Angeli and Anthony Kosidowski are organizing the Connecting Couples events and would like your input for future ideas. Please take a minute and take the survey to let them know what you think. (It will take you approximately 2-3 minutes to complete.)
