Greetings!

I just found out our booth placement for Saturday at De Pere's Fall Fest.  We'll be smack dab in the middle of the street in the 100 block of Broadway.  Right in the center of the activity - nice!  AND the forecast says Saturday will be sunny.  Very nice!  What a great opportunity to tell lots of people about the cool things going on here at New Hope (and to give them a balloon).  We still need a few more workers Saturday afternoon (2 - 4 and 4 -6) so let me know if you are able to come and help.  It's a cushy 'job' and lots of fun chatting with people.

On a separate note, a full listing of classes and activities was sent last couple weeks, including many classes being offered in the area at other United Methodist Churches for you to consider.  Here is a link to all the info in case you missed it.

See you Sunday - I'll save you a seat!

Liturgical Dance Info Meeting on Sunday
Praise Him with Dancing!

There will be an informational meeting this Sunday at 10:05 for anyone interested in liturgical dance ministry for dancers of all ages. What is it? A liturgical dance group is a dance team that performs during worship services to promote an atmosphere of worship and praise. Liturgical dance brings creativity to the worship experience. Expressive movement of liturgical dance enhances the service for dancers and spectators alike. Together we will choreograph and perform worship dances for church service, community events, and/or video sharing during worship with our own, or neighboring Methodist church communities. How can I help? Donate your time, creativity & skills, or supplies. Volunteer as a young dancer, work-shop host, assistant teacher, or parent helper. Become involved with music, advertising, or costuming. All are welcome.

Questions?  Contact Amber DeNoble, Liturgical Dance Coordinator via e-mail at denobleamber@aol.com to share ideas and request additional information.

Freedom House & New Hope To Enjoy Brat Fry
'Daily Bread' to sponsor Brat Fry on Sept. 26th
The mission committee at New Hope is excited to launch 'Daily Bread', a local mission directive designed to help relieve hunger and poverty in our area.
As seed money for the program, last week the children passed bread pans among you during the children sermon and collected over $130!  Thank you for your generosity!

The first event the group has planned is to provide a meal for more than 60 people at The Freedom House on Sept. 26th.  That same morning our hungry congregation will benefit as well, as Daily Bread plans to cook up extra brats and burgers for you to purchase and enjoy after worship!

We are still in need of the following food items:
3 doz. brats
4 doz. burgers
2 cantaloupe - cut and cubed for kabobs
2 packages strawberries - washed and hulled for kabobs
1 bag grapes - washed
1 package pineapple - cut and cubed for kabobs
4 packages assorted veggies - washed, cut and ready for a tray
1 large bag apples - whole
1 large bag oranges - whole
2 bunches of bananas - whole

A sign up sheet is on the refreshment table or you can email Patti with your donation

Christianity & World Religions
Sunday evening at 6:00
In our religiously diverse society it is essential that Christians seek to understand the faiths of others, to know how these faiths are similar to and different from their own faith. This course examines four major world religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Judaism describing how they began, some of their essential teachings, and ways in which they differ from and are similar to Christianity. We'll taste foods that are important to their culture and visit their place of worship.

Led by Erich Bacher

Confirmation Orientation on Sept. 26th
Geared for students 8th grade and above

Confirmation is a program where youth learn the essentials of the Christian faith and can have their questions about God answered. Your family does not need a prior membership in any church for your youth to participate - we welcome everyone.

There will be an orientation session for both parents and students on Sunday, September 26th at 11:45 a.m. in room 104.  The Mission team is holding a brat fry that day so plan to support them and eat lunch with us.

The 2010 Confirmation program will meet weekly on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting October 3rd. The program focuses on living your faith and in addition to traditional learning, includes outreach activities such as a mission trip, and serving at a local pantry.

Dates to note in 2010-2011:
Mission trip - Thursday & Friday, Oct. 28 - 29th (perhaps returning the 30th)
Confirmation Banquet & Rehearsal - Wednesday, April 27, 2011
Confirmation - Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.
