Greetings! Pastor Greg's summer sermon series, "Are You Barely Surviving? Or Totally Thriving!" is off to a great start. I don't know about you, but I've been thinking about ways to grow the "healthy grass" in my life, so that the "unhealthy weeds" will get choked out. Great analogy. The next nine weeks Pastor Greg will address each of the individual Fruits of the Spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22-23, and this week starts with a bang, on the topic of LOVE.
See you in church, I'll save you a seat! Patti

Wisconsin UMC Annual Conference
| June 13th to 16th in LaCrosse
Every June United Methodist pastors and lay leaders from across Wisconsin gather to discuss key items and the business issues of the denomination on a statewide level. This year Pastor Greg, Patti Bacher, Mallory Welk and Andrew Welk will be attending to represent New Hope.
I know Pastor Greg will get to connect with many clergy colleagues that he doesn't get to see very often. The last time I attended I was able to visit with an old friend from my high school youth group who now works for First UMC in Madison, so I'm looking forward to seeing old friends again. Mallory and Andrew will get to meet many other young leaders from across Wisconsin and we'll all get to participate in the decision making process of the Wisconsin Conference.
Most importantly we'll be there to learn, listen, energize, give our input on issues, and to look at the big picture of the United Methodist Church and how we are God's servants out in the world doing what he wants us to do.
God is good! |
Noisy Collection is this week
| A little loose change makes a big difference
Bring your loose change and LOUDLY toss it into the children's cans as they pass through the congregation this Sunday. This collection is taken the second Sunday of every month and goes to our benefit our partners in Bulgaria.
Our partners in Russe are currently in need of about $2,000 - $3,000 USD to repair their leaky roof. (That certainly has a familiar ring to it, doesn't it!?) If you'd like to donate more than your change to this cause, just designate it as such and we'll make sure they receive it.

| Cheer On Our Team At The Bellin Run/Walk! | New Hope Will Rock The Bellin!
Just a reminder we will be taking a team photo on the morning of the race. Please be at the corner of S. Roosevelt and Porlier (northeast corner of Astor Park) at 7:15 AM for the team photo. That should give everyone plenty of time after the photo to warm up and get into their wave assignments prior to the start at 8. If you are not running and would like to be in the New Hope photo, you are welcome to join us! The more the merrier - and the cheering/encouragement squad is certainly part of our team!
Here are the names of the New Hope official and unofficial team members. It's nice to be cheered for by name!
Gary, Logan and Mason Piontek Patrick Hansen-Schmitt Amy and Ron Powell Jim Aniol Patti, Lindsay and Kari Bacher Erich and Katie Bacher Connie Schmiege (Patti's aunt) Peter, Carla, Allie, Grace and Ethan Murray (Patti's brother's family) Roxy Reckelberg Michelle Lake Jenifer Selissen Teresa Moore Clark Stevens Bryan, Drew and Ryan Engel Kristin and Adam Kuss Joanne Angeli Anthony Kosidowski Scott and Chris Deering Kirs Kruzicki Jim Zarembka
Were you aware?? Proceeds from the race entry fees go to scholarships at the Bellin School of Nursing which along with Bellin Hospital has been affiliated with the Methodist church since 1907.
Remember Isaiah 40:31 - "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Have a great event!

Connecting Couples,Adventure Group & Young Hope Head to Crystal River Canoe Trip
| Fun for Father's Day weekend! - Saturday, June 19th
 Invite your friends and
family to come with us on the Crystal River Canoe trip in Waupaca on June 19th. The trip is a 3 hour adventure for ages 7 to
adult. Two people (and a smaller child) ride in a specially made canoe
down the scenic river, which averages about 2.5 feet in depth. It is fun
and exciting to shoot the rapids and dodge the obstacles that you will
encounter. It even includes a very short
portage! - Cost is $16 per
person.
- Meet at New Hope at 10:15 a.m. OR meet us at Dings
Dock in Waupaca by 12:30 p.m. (We will
be in the 1:00 group)
- Pack a lunch to
eat before hitting the water and you may want to plan on eating dinner in the
area afterward.
RSVP here or on the sign up sheet on the refreshment table before Tuesday, June15th so we can update Dings Dock with the number of canoes we'll need.
Check it out online at www.dingsdock.com.

|
Green Bay Circuit United
Methodist churches are invited to a gathering at New Hope UMC in De Pere

small group ideas for the fall.
Many of the eight
churches currently offer DISCIPLE, Companions in Christ, women's Bible studies,
men's Bible studies, couple's groups, Lay Servant Ministry classes, support
groups, etc.
Let's put our heads and
our efforts together and invite members to attend a study at any church as their
schedule and interests allow. Call Patti Bacher, Director of Ministries at New
Hope UMC, at 964-0143 or Donna Wilkinson, Director of Nicolet District Lay
Servant Ministries, at 391-0734 with questions. All are invited.
