Greetings!
Mother's Day is Sunday and Pastor Greg will be basing his message on John 14:23-29, "God Sent This Message More Than Once" as the second week in his sermon series, "Forwarding Jesus Without Clicking Send". This makes me think back to the things I had to tell my children, or that MY mom had to tell ME more than once... well, let's just not go there. Sounds like it will be a great sermon!
Kari, my 'baby' graduates from college this weekend. Isn't that cool? (And if you are thinking, "Patti's WAY to young to have her baby graduating from college," then your right! My how time flies. I'll be in Minneapolis on Sunday, so you'll have to arrive at New Hope early as I won't be here to save you a seat. However, I will be here with you in thought and prayer.

Triple Anniversary Celebration is May 23rd
| "Memories" Needed for Triple Anniversary
On May 23rd we will be celebrating!
1) The 25th anniversary of Greg becoming a pastor. (Cool!)
2) The 2nd anniversary of New Hope becoming chartered (Neat-o!)
3) Pentecost - commemorates the descent of the Holy
Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus as
described in the New Testament book of Acts. For this reason, Pentecost is sometimes
described as the "Birthday of the Church" and is celebrated using the color red.
For the celebration we need your stories and memories of Greg and of New Hope. (We'll take your stories about the ascension of Christ if you were there and want to share them with us. Okay, Patti, weak attempt at humor... no one at New Hope is THAT old!)
Please write down your happy memories, sayings, and stories that have happened at New Hope or of Pastor Greg and send them to us. We'll compile them into a book to share with everyone. They can be dropped off in the church office or they can be emailed to Michelle.

Noisy Collection is this week
| Bring your change for children's sermon
The second Sunday of the month is Noisy Collection Sunday. Be sure to bring your change to loudly toss into the cans of the children as they pass through the isles. The money collected goes toward our Bulgarian Missions - be sure to keep them in your prayers as you collect your loose change throughout the month.

Summer Sunday School Teachers Needed
|
Summer is just around the corner and we are looking for summer Sunday School teachers. This is a once a month commitment from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. The lesson will be prepared for you and consists of a video followed by a few discussion questions or crafts. To volunteer call the church office or email Michelle. Thanks!

| New Hope 101 for New Members |
Coffee, cookies, and answers to questions you may have about New Hope, Methodism, or Christianity will be the agenda for New Hope 101 on Monday, May 17th at 7:00 in the evening. Our confirmation class selected the theme and with their input Katy Gertz designed the snazzy graphic for us to enter in Bellin's t-shirt competition. It's based on 1 Timothy 4:7b "A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body" which is in small print surrounding the heart and body.

Connecting Couples & Adventure Group Joint Canoe Trip

This was SO MUCH FUN last year that it's back by popular demand! Saturday, June 19th we'll be heading to Waupaca for a canoe trip on the Crystal River. This is a great event for singles, couples, and families to celebrate Father's Day weekend. Put it on your calendar, invite some fun people, and watch for further details.
