Greetings!

This Sunday is Confirmation Sunday and six young adults will be confirming the promise their parents made for them at baptism and taking ownership of their faith going forward. Over the past 12 years I've had the pleasure of being a confirmation mentor for five young men and women, and have gone on four mission trips with various confirmation classes. Sharing those experiences with them has indeed been educational, humbling and fun to say the least.

I've enjoyed being there as they are exploring their faith and their feelings about God and learning how to put their faith into action in an imperfect world. Quite often on these trips we ask the question, "Where did you see God today?" It's no secret that faith is a journey with it's hills, valleys and mountain tops - it never sits still and is so much more rewarding and alive when embraced on a daily basis.

After all, when you are looking for something, you are more likely to find it.

See you in church, I'll save you a seat.

May 8th from 11:00 - 2:00...Mark Your Calendar NOW

New Hope's Caring Missions Ministry wants you to mark your calendars now for the annual Postal Workers Food Drive coming up on May 8th.  The post office picks up food donations from their postal route and part of them will be dropped off at St Anne's Episcopal Church, located just down the street from New Hope.  This big event helps stock the De Pere Christian Outreach Food Pantry and they need our help sorting and organizing the food from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm. with the main need from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. It's like grocery shopping backwards!  All you need to do to help is show up at St. Anne's on May 8th ready to help.  Lunch from Subway will be provided to everyone.
