Health Ministry's
Activity Tree

We added another leaf on the activity tree this week!  Way to go everyone!

Be sure to log your walking/running mileage (or the equivalent for other activity**) on the Health Ministries bulletin board this Sunday.

We want our tree to be in full bloom by May, so get busy and get active!

**Count 10 minutes of other activity as one mile.

Greetings!

As this edition of eNews arrives in your inbox, John James and I are driving with the confirmation class and other youth to Milwaukee to serve at the United Methodist Children Service.  I am excited about this trip - what a great opportunity to get to know the youth in our church and to work side by side as they experience what it means to be in service to others.  I am also looking forward to time with John James - from past experience in Bulgaria together, that man is a hoot and has a great sense of humor!  (He also has one of the kindest, most gentle souls I know.)

John and I will be traveling with Andrew and Mallory Welk, Trevor Champ, Paige Mushinski, Desiree and Chantel Forget, and Rebekah Jewison.  We ask that you keep us in your prayers for a safe, eye-opening, thought-provoking and heart-warming trip.

We'll be back by Sunday morning and will briefly share in worship some of our experiences.  Be sure to stop and ask the teens what they did and what they learned.

See you in church!
Patti

BTW - This week is the NOISY Collection where the children pass through the congregation collecting your loose change for missions.  Be sure to bring your quarters, dimes, nickels, pennies (and even dollars) with you!

Scholarship Applications...When?  How?
No, it's NOT too early!

Believe it or not, applying for college and technical school scholarships is something that should be on the radar of not just senior high youth and their parents, but also middle schoolers.  Join us Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00 p.m. when Joanne Angeli, Executive Director of Scholarships, Inc., shares with us the many things you can do to be prepared and how important it is that the sooner you're aware, the better!  This is open to the public; please feel free to invite your friends.

Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00 p.m. (Following the Lenten Potluck and Worship)
Prayer Ministry Emerges
Handwritten Prayer and Wrapped in Prayer

We are excited to have two prayer ministries emerge following our Praying In Color retreat and will offer them on Wednesdays in March at 7:00 after the Lenten Worship service.

Handwritten Card MinistryPrayer - Snail mail and the art of the handwritten note are still much loved and appreciated.  You'll have the opportunity to make colorful prayer cards of your own as you explore and discuss ways this NOT forgotten form of communication is a true ministry.  Join us Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00.

Wrapped in Prayer - You will hear about and experience the extensive ministry that has been wrapping both the creators and the recipients in a world of warmth and love.  If you are a knitter - bring your things!  We'll also have the chance to learn to "tie" a blanket.  Join us Wednesday, March 24th at 7:00.

Future meeting times will be determined based on participant availability.
