Health Ministry's
Activity Tree

We added another leaf on the activity tree today!  Yay!

Be sure to log your walking/running mileage (or the equivalent for other activity**) on the Health Ministries bulletin board this Sunday.

We want our tree to be in full bloom by May, so get busy and get active!

**Count 10 minutes of other activity as one mile.

Greetings!

As I smell the clean odor of Jen mopping the floor this afternoon in preparation of worship on Sunday, I realize it's already Friday, and I can't help but be amazed at how quickly this week has gone!  Wow!  Lenten season is already flying by and before we know it Easter will be upon us.  What are you doing to prepare your heart for Easter?  Are you "mopping" out the grunge and focusing on renewal?  Are you spending time with God reflecting on your faith?  On Wednesday night at the Lenten worship service, Tom Buechler shared his faith story with us and it was really inspirational to hear his thoughts and see a piece of what makes Tom the fun-loving, faithful guy that he is.

Be sure to join us for potluck dinner the next four Wednesdays in March at 5:45 p.m. followed by a half hour of worship at 6:30.  During worship each week a member of New Hope will share a story of how faith has impacted their life and you won't want to miss it.

Now I think I'll head home and mop MY floors.

See you in church!

College Scholarship Applications...When?  How?
No, it's NOT too early!

Believe it or not, applying for college scholarships is something that should be on the radar of not just senior high youth and their parents, but also middle schoolers.  Join us Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00 p.m. when Joanne Angeli, Executive Director of Scholarships, Inc., shares with us the many things you can do to be prepared and how important it is that the sooner you're aware, the better!  This is open to the public; please feel free to invite your friends.

Wednesday, March 17th at 7:00 p.m. (Following the Lenten Potluck and worship)

Where and When:
United Methodist Children's Services
March 11 - 13th

United Methodist Children's Services (www.umcs-wi.org) was organized in 1962 and has been serving women, children and families in the Milwaukee area for 45 years.  They have three main areas of emphasis. The Growing Tree Children's Center, the Transitional Living Program, and the Family Resource Center.  Our work while we are there will most likely be with the Family Resource Center as part of the emergency food pantry and clothing distribution, however we may be asked to help clean or paint one of their transitional homes as well.  It all depends where their greatest area of need is on the days we are there.

The trip is open to all youth in the 8th grade or above and adults.
