Greetings!

I hope you've been rounding up your poodle skirts and loafers for the sock hop on Sunday!  However, while costumes are fun, they are not required, so be sure to plan on attending with or without a poodle!

This Sunday Pastor Greg will reference Luke 9:28-36 for "...the Tough Wake Up and See the Glory." as the final week of his current sermon series, "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Do What?"

The youth made about $225 on their chili sale last Sunday and very much appreciate your support of their programs.  Thanks!

Details are below for Ash Wednesday and an upcoming mission trip to Milwaukee.  Be sure to check it out.

See you in church!

Ash Wednesday Dinner & Worship
Lent starts this week
Join us for Ash Wednesday dinner on February 17th at 5:45 p.m.  The church will provide the main course, beverage and table service. Please bring a dish to pass.

Following the meal a worship service will be held from 6:30 - 7:00 as we begin the 40-day observation of Jesus' struggle in the wilderness.

Milwaukee Mission Trip in March
Are You Being Called To Serve?

United Methodist Children's Services
March 11 - 13th

United Methodist Children's Services (www.umcs-wi.org) was organized in 1962 and has been serving women, children and families in the Milwaukee area for 45 years.  They have three main areas of emphasis. The Growing Tree Children's Center, the Transitional Living Program, and the Family Resource Center.  Our work while we are there will most likely be with the Family Resource Center as part of the emergency food pantry and clothing distribution, however we may be asked to help clean or paint one of their transitional homes as well.  It all depends where their greatest area of need is on the days we are there.

We'll meet at New Hope at 2:15 on Thursday afternoon.  We will be sleeping at a church in the Milwaukee area on Thursday and Friday night and working at the UMCS all day Friday and Saturday until noon.   We will return to New Hope on Saturday afternoon.

Cost of the trip is $50.

The trip is open to all youth in the 8th grade or above and adults.  Contact Patti by February 28th if you plan to go.  (Note:  The confirmation class is expected to attend unless excused by Pastor Barb.)

A mission training meeting including what to expect and what to pack, etc. will be held the week of March 8th.
