"Frustration is the first step towards improvement. I have no incentive to improve if I'm content with what I can do...It's only when I face frustration and use it to fuel my dedication that I feel myself moving forwards."

10/2010 v23
Distributed every other Wednesday

Greetings!

The past several weeks have brought us some beautiful weather!  Temperatures are starting to cool off, making it a great time to get out for a run/walk (or to pick up a new program).

Even though our afternoons have stayed warm, some of the mornings have even been verging on chilly, which means you may need some new layers. Good news!
We've got fall and winter apparel coming in every day!

Many experts agree that the ideal running temperatures are 40-55 degrees. We're not quite there yet, but those temperatures are coming, so it's best to be prepared!

Avoid overdressing for a run by dressing as if it is about 15-20 degrees warmer than what the thermometer reads. That will help prevent overheating as you get moving and warmed up. Check out our website for more tips on cool weather running and the key equipment necessary for a smooth transition.

Once you have your cold weather gear, read on to check out all the activities and programming we have going on this fall.

Cheers!
Jeremy and Leah

Product Spotlight--New Balance? New Release!

The New Balance 101 Minamalist Trail Shoe is in.

New Balance's 100 debuted last year. Based on customer feedback, the new 101 features a less dense rock plate that will make the shoe slightly more flexible. The outside of the upper has been reinforced in the forefoot to reduce blowout by high mileage users and the tongue of the shoe has a second layer of fabric for more cushioning.

Headed to the trails? Stop in and try out this new shoe. Or anyof the other trail shoes on our wall for that matter.

Reduce and Eliminate Pain from Sports Injuries...

With Acupuncture!

How? Eric Recine, L.Ac.,MAcOM  of Recine's Acupuncture Center, says...

Pain due to trauma or the demands of walking/running can be dealt with effectively through the use of Acupuncture. Although a relatively new form of treatment to the Western world, acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has been used effectively for over 4,000 years.

Areas of pain felt in the body are NOT the only tissues involved in a injury; the surrounding tissues are involved as well. These, as well as other areas sometimes far from the injury site, harbor inflammatory mediators with increased pain and shortened muscle. Over time the body develops small areas of scar tissue often call "trigger points."

Acupuncture meridians (or "pain pathways") are where these trigger points exist in the tissue. The use of acupuncture on these trigger points can be reduce or eliminate pain throughout the full course of the pathway, not just the local area felt. Eliminate the trigger points and the tissue will begin to heal and lengthen and pain will be reduced or eliminated.

It makes sense, right? Treat the root cause of the problem. Rather than the band-aid approach to addressing pain, this more economical approach for long term relief is also more effective!

Call the store today (920 830 7867) to schedule a free 15-minute consultation with Eric Recine on Thursday, October 28 between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.
