Greetings!
Why do we exercise?
8 million Americans have adult-onset Diabetes. Physical
activity in combination with a healthful diet can help reduce body fat which
will help prevent or control this type of diabetes.
13.5 million Americans suffer from heart disease. Physical
activity strengthens your heart muscle, helps lower blood pressure, and
improves blood cholesterol.All of these
changes will improve blood flow throughout your body, increasing the hearts
ability to function correctly.
63% of Americans are considered overweight. This number
equates to a third of the population.Staying
active and encouraging others to be physically active improves health, reduces
risk of life threatening chronic diseases, and can lead to a happier, more
fulfilling life.
Compelling reasons to be active. The good news it that it can be loaded with fun! Check out all the upcoming events that will educate, support, and celebrate your choice to lead an active lifestyle!
Cheers!

| Barefoot Running Presentation | | Don't Take your Shoes Off Until You've Heard This!
On August 24th at 7:00 PM, Fleet Feet Sports Fox Valley will host Michael Sandler, author of Barefoot Running: How to Run Light and Free by Getting in Touch with the Earth.
Michael will share tips on how to transition from running with shoes to barefoot running and how to use barefoot running, in conjunction with shoes, as a tool to help you reach your goals.
Whether you're a recreational runner, a professional athlete, or just getting into the sport, you'll walk away from this clinic with a new profound approach to running light, happy, and injury-free. Training barefoot can help you strengthen your feet and find your own natural, impact-free stride whether you run in or out of a shoe. This can keep you healthy, allow you to run when you thought you couldn't (bad knees, hips, feet, plantar fasciitis, etc) and help you become the lightest, most efficient runner you can be. This popular presentation will be informative, inspiring, and fun! The event is only $5, so stop by or call Fleet Feet Sports at 920.830.7867 to reserve your spot. The presentation will be limited to 40 attendees.
For more information, please email Leah.
Find out more about Michael's book, which will be available at the presentation. |
