 Distributed Every Other Wednesday

Greetings!

Our Wednesday newsletter is coming out a day late because I have been out in the Seattle-area touring the Northwest Podiatric Laboratory; the premier orthopedic lab in the country for prescription orthotics. It's no coincidence that the Founders of this lab are also the developers of Superfeet inserts.
Beyond the invaluable biomechanical information and refinement opportunities to the FIT experience that I learned, there were two pieces of information that I found particularly compelling. First, all patients have the right to communicate to their doctors in what lab they would like to have their orthotics made.

Second is the One-Eighth of One Percent (1/8th of 1%) Rule. This is the idea of always striving to be better tomorrow than you were today. At work. At fitness. At family. Let me try to illustrate why this is important.

A world where 99.9% success is good enough would look something like this:
  • 20,000 incorrect drug prescriptions per year
  • 1 hour of unsafe drinking water each month
  • 500 incorrect surgical operations a week
  • 50 newborn babies dropped at birth every day
  • 22,000 checks deducted from the wrong bank accounts every hour
Hardly sounds like the right level of success to be striving for.
At Fleet Feet Sports we will be implementing the 1/8th of 1% Rule. We will always be striving to provide better service, better programs, better information, and ultimately a better experience for you. That's our goal. What's yours?

Cheers!
Jeremy and Leah

    Benefit Concert in Kaukauna
In September, Kevin Covert (promoter of the Bluegrass Adventure and Roots Festival in Algoma) fell 60 feet off of a cliff at Ledge County park braking his neck, crushing his back, braking all of his ribs and punctured both lungs.

Doctors thought he would be paralyzed from the waist down. 2.5 months in the hospital and and a fantastic team of experts has allowed Kevin to walk with help of a walker.

On May 15, 2010 a Benefit Concert will be held at J.J. Maloney's in Kaukauna to raise money to offset his medical costs and the fact that he lost his job.
