 CELTIC THISTLE
Celtic ThistleSince my first show of 2010 was the Queen Mary Scottish Festival I decided to create a Scottish thistle. My design surrounds the outlines of the thistle in a Celtic knot. This helps the thistle's broad leaves to stand out while providing a "rising" motion to the stem and crown. Prints of this piece are available at Ravensdaughter Designs. You can also buy this print here with Paypal.

 Scottish ThistleTHE SCOTTISH THISTLE
is the national emblem of Scotland. As the legend goes, when the Vikings invaded Scotland in the early middle ages, a Viking warrior accidentally stepped on a thistle. He cried out in pain which woke the sleeping Scottish warriors and alerted them to the impending Viking attack. The Scottish King Kenneth III was so grateful that he adopted the thistle as his country's badge.

My Sad News

Paul RadoTo those of you who have been receiving this email monthly, you may have noticed that it hasn't come in a while. I did take the holidays off, but on January 19th I lost my beloved husband of 25 years, Paul Rado, in a light truck rollover accident in the mountains where we live. My life has been turned completely upside down, but I know Paul would want me to continue with my art, so I'm not quitting. I hope you don't mind if I share this piece of tragic news. If you would like to read more about my Paul or offer a condolence, please visit my Facebook page.  --Anne
