These Celtic Dogs are one of the first pieces I created. They were requested by Halldorr Thorhalsson of the SCA, who asked for two Celtic dogs woven into a wagon wheel, biting each other's necks. There are two color variations of this piece available on my website. Halldorr has the original.
THE CELTIC DOG
The Celtic people had a high regard for their dogs. Dogs were an essential part of Celtic life, whether used for hunting or protection. Dogs kept a family safe and offered loyal companionship. The dog was often portrayed in Celtic art and remains a staple in the list of Celtic totem animals.
GICLÉE ART MEDALLIONS FROM RAVENSDAUGHTER DESIGNS
These medallions are giclée prints 1 1/2" in diameter decoupaged to a wood base with a brass back. I'm having a little trouble putting them on my website, but all my Celtic art can be made into medallions, so please email me if you would like to purchase one.
