Welcome to the Artfulprints Newsletter,
Art prints for your home | | Dear ,
I have some personal news to share in this beautiful month of June. To the right you will see a photo of my son Scott, who just graduated from Law School, and of course me, the proud mom. Scott has worked so hard to reach this milestone in his life and deserves all the happiness and rewards that will follow. Congratulations Scott! |

New botanical art prints on my web site |
This new print
Digital Collage, Fern Fragments, H.10"xW.15" | is a layering of three scanned paintings, white translucent digital brush strokes and a repetition of ferns photographed in Door County Wisconsin. I manipulated the color of the ferns to create interest as well as allude to the various seasons of the year. See it at my web site:

Matisse at the Art Institute of Chicago |
There is an important exhibit of artist Henri Matisse, entitled
at the Art Institute of Chicago, through June 20, 2010. Matisse was an admired force in the color and design of modern 20th century painting, and a strong influence of my own work. He might be most recognizable for his inventive "paper cut-outs" created toward the end of his life when he was too ill to stand at an easel and paint. Instead, he had assistants paint large sheets of paper that he could cut into wonderful shapes from his wheelchair.

New prints for summer in my Etsy shop |
Lilies, which are a favorite summer flower of mine, are about to bloom. This new work in my etsy store portrays a celebration of summer with its hot yellows, and hopes of icy blue, cool breezes.
If you enjoyed this newsletter, I encourage you to share it with anyone and everyone. I am trying to build a larger audience for my work and I can only succeed with the help of friends like you.
Sincerely,
Betty Butler
