Greetings!
We would like to inform you of some ways to make your business life a little easier! This month we feature the remote login tool, LogMeIn, a no cost way to communicate provided by Skype, a tool that I use and love to communicate with the masses, Constant Contact, and last but certainly not least, a great way to track your web site performance, check out Google Analytics.
To your success! |
Log Me In Have you ever ran into the office because you needed something off your computer? Or how about transfering files back and forth to work on them? Sound familiar? Then you must install LogMeIn on your office computer. This program is a totally secure web application that once installed on the computer you want to access, allows you to navigate it just as if you were sitting in front of it. Pretty cool huh?
If you are concerned about security, don't be - as long as you have your computer protected for surfing the web and receiving emails, LogMeIn doesn't add any risk.
Many Virtual Assistants use this tool daily to access clients computers - especially bookkeepers, so that the books are always up to date AND on the clients computer. Here is what you get for absolutely no cost:
- Access from any Internet-connected web browser
- Access to a Windows PC or Mac
- Remote control and desktop viewing
- Copy and paste between computers
- Wake on LAN
- Reboot/reconnect (including safe mode)
- Basic reports (remote access sessions and user access)
- Chat
- AES 256-bit encryption
- SSL/TLS intrusion detection
- IP address lockout
- No need for firewall, router or proxy configuration
- No requirement for remote PC admin rights
There are also different paid levels that provide more options such as file sharing and are suitable for IT work. See the website for more information.

Skype Are you forever checking your cell phone minutes to be sure that you don't go over your plan? Well if your friends, family and colleagues are computer literate, get everyone hooked up on Skype. This is another free service that allows you to create a profile and chat via typing, make Internet telephone calls (even with video, if you want), and share your computer screen with other Skype users. I find this invaluable for keeping in contact with my clients, associates and virtual assistant mentors. It is like having all these people sitting right next to me and when I need to contact them - they are just a click away.
Skype also offers many other paid packages - you can purchase an Internet telephone number, purchase minutes so that you can use Skype to call people that do not have an account and much more. Here is a sampling:

Constant Contact Ok, this one isn't free all the time but if you are interested in getting your marketing message out by delving into the world of email marketing then you have to try the FREE 60-day trial of this robust marketing tool.
This is just one of many email management programs on the market, but in my opinion is the best - they are constantly making improvements and your message can stay alive and go viral with the social media integration as well as the archive feature which provides you will just another piece of web real estate. Constant Contact is very easy to learn and has a tools for list building via your website or Facebook as well as an automated responder program. The auto-responder program, once set up allows you to remain in contact with your email list by creating marketing messages that can be sent automatically on your scheduled time frame.
Remember - eZone Secretarial Services provides creating e-newsletters as a service. If you are interested but don't want to take the time to learn another program - contact us!
