 Yarn Tapas with Gina Wilde of Alchemy Yarns!
On Friday, August 17 from 5:30 to 7:30,
come sample the range of amazing, luxurious yarns from our friends at Alchemy Yarns. In addition to the small samples of yarns you'll receive, we'll be serving some hors d'oeuvres as well as wines from Moonstone Cellars. Gina will talk about Alchemy, her yarns and designs, as well as signing copies of her books.
Between designing, dying, and traveling to Southeast Asia where she runs a Cambodian relief effort, Gina is often unable to travel and visit shops. We feel very honored and privileged that she is taking this time to spend an evening with us. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity!
The Details
Cost: $20 - this can be applied toward the purchase of anything in the store all weekend, so it's the perfect time to make up that Wisdom Wrap, Magician's Scarf, or Knit, Swirl Jacket!

 Knit, Swirl Trunk Show!
We're pleased to announce a Trunk Show from the #1 knitting book in the country - Knit, Swirl by Sandra McIver! From July 27 to August 12 we'll have a selection of these amazing, beautiful, flattering jackets in the shop. We always have the books in stock as well as the Mountain Colors kits for the jacket featured on the cover. If we don't have them in stock, we can also have the Alchemy Haiku and Sanctuary yarns dyed for you for the amazing Sheer Beauty jacket shown here. It's a lovely, lightweight version of the jacket, simply perfect for many mild climates. We've also put together a list of yarns suitable for the jackets for which we don't carry the specified yarns. We spent some quality time with Sandra at TNNA and we're ready to help you launch your own Knit, Swirl Jacket!

 New Stuff?
Sure! The latest is from Zealana - The amazing Rimu Possum/Merino yarn came in! Not the same as US Possum, the Brush Tail Possum is non-native to New Zealand and is a huge threat to the native Kiwi population. In order to try and control the population of this pest, humane culling is encouraged by all of New Zealand, which is why we say "Save a Kiwi, knit with Possum!" Rimu is 60% Merino, 40% Possum, DK weight, machine washable, SOFT and delicious. Just 4 skeins makes a fabulous, cashmere-like scarf. Come see it today on-line or in the store or give us a call, we'll ship it right out along with the free pattern!
We also just received Rowan Pure Wool Aran, a machine washable yarn that knits on a US 7 or 8 in all those beautiful Rowan colors. It's soft yet robust, and with +/- 186 yarns on a skein, a great value for all your knitting projects! And yes, as we so often do, we carry every color available! As a matter of fact, some of the colors we have aren't even on the Rowan web site yet so when you click to our site you'll see some blank colors. We'll update them soon, we promise!
