Auntie Wooly Says:
Dahlings! What a wonderful time I had in Cambria this fall. It was so lovely seeing old friends and meeting new ones! It's hard to believe we're about to say goodbye to 2011, but we're looking forward to a fantastic 2012!
Me? I'm off to the islands and points unknown until next fall. But I'll promise to keep in touch! Untill next time... Happy Stitching, My Dears! Auntie W.

Qiviuk! - The rarest fiber in the world. Made from the soft underdown of the Canadian Musk Ox, Qiviuk is soft, warm, and a pleasure to work with. Everyone deserves at least one ball of Qiviuk in their stash. And, we have a free pattern available that uses just one skein to create a beautful scarf! (Oh, and it's pronounced KIV- ee-ook. And yes, we practiced) Alchemy! - Our featured yarn at the recent Interweave Knitting Lab in San Mateo, Alchemy is hand-dyed in Sonoma county California and is some of the most beautiful and unique yarns we've ever seen. Thanks to the wonderful folks at Interweave Knitting Lab, we were cleaned out of most of our Alchemy yarns! We're restocked, especially with Silken Straw and Sanctuary which are used in many Shibori pieces. The newest yarn we have from them is Juniper, their delicious sock yarn!
As always, if you don't see what you're looking for, give us a call!

I don't live nearby... We're big believers in seeing and feeling the fibers, but sometimes you just need an extra skein of a yarn you're working on or you just don't have the time to stop into your friendly neighborhood yarn shop. That's why we have our on-line store! In addition, we always urge you to give us a call if you can't find what you need on our site as we deal with so many different vendors, we don't have everything on-line.
We're also happy to help with planning or executing your projects. We've gotten good at helping folks over the phone or by email with a wide variety of issues. Not every yarn in every color is always readily available (or even the best value!) which is why we're also very good at yarn substitutions! You may have the perfect pattern for your project, but need some help finding the right yarn for you. If so, please don't hesitate to drop us a line or give us a call, we're here to help!

We're off to see... New Yarns!
It's almost January so we're off to our Spring/Summer TNNA industry trade show looking for the latest and most fun things of interest to fiber fans everywhere! The show is open to the trade only (Sorry!) and is where we get to see the latest and greatest from the industry. Yes, we're busy meeting with our major suppliers before hand (Lots of new things in the pipeline!) but we often find exciting things from small vendors. We also take courses on a wide variety of topics. This year, much to our surprise, Oz was asked to present courses on Sales and Marketing in order to help our fellow shops take advantage of the techniques he has learned over the last 30+ plus years. We're very pleased to be able to give back at least a little to our fiber community.

Ball & Skein Wrap Cowl
Some call it an "Infinity Scarf", we just call it the Wrap Cowl! Made with one skein of Nadeshiko from our friends at Noro, the wrap cowl has many way to wear it for that perfect, quick-knit accent. |
A few spots are still left for "Weekend Away"
It's filling up fast, but we still have a few spots left! Have questions, want to sign up? Check it out on the web site, or give us a call! A great time will be had by all! And, thank you to the Cambria Pines Lodge, we're able to extend the Early Bird pricing until Friday January 13, 2011! A perfect way to treat yourself this coming Spring! |
