Auntie Wooly Says:
Dahlings! They say it ain't easy being green but those dear people at the shop sure seem to try! Their bags are 100% recycled plastic (Please reuse them as much as you can!), they print on recycled paper, and their receipts are printed on BPA free paper as well! (Did you know most receipts are coated with BPA? Please don't recycle those, it's bad for us all) They use LED lights, they recycle everything they can, they buy organic and fair-trade items, they try and source as much from California as they can, the list goes on. It may not be easy for them, but it sure seems fun and beautiful! Till next time, Happy Stitching! Auntie W.

Manos del Uruguay
We're back from our TNNA Fall/Winter show in Columbus, OH. Lots of work, but so much fun to catch up with old friends and make new ones! We took classes from the likes of Gwen Bortner, Sally Melville, and many others. We also had the chance to spend some time with so many wonderful people, including the good people from Manos del Uruguay. Manos, we all know, has produced such fabulous yarns for over 40 years now, starting with their hand-spun, kettled dyed "Clasica" through silk/merino blends, worsted weight merinos, and their newest lace weight. Manos is more than that, as it is a Certified Fair Trade yarn produced by a Woman's Cooperative. Manos is actually 17 Cooperatives all over Uruguay employing over 350 women. To say it's transformed hundreds of lives is an understatement. We're proud to carry all their yarns in all their fabulous colors. And as one of their top resellers in the US, we're honored to be a small part of their wonderful story. Click here to download a FREE pattern for a 2-skein Manos Clasica Scarf

Alchemy Yarns The husband and wife team of Gina and Austin Wilde are another great California small business story. Their passion for color, texture, and creativity simply oozes from every skein of their unique and so delicious yarns. Gina, a recognized expert in Shibiori and color has hand dyed every skein of yarn Alchemy has ever produced. We try and keep up with the yarns we carry from them on our web site, but they do sell so fast, we often lag behind! It's hard not to fall in love with such wonderful, soft, unique yarns dyed using natural mordants in an array of the most incredible colors. See them on-line at our web site where we have 5 of the 6 yarns we carry from them, or better yet, come in and experience these amazing fibers for yourself! Value - what does it really cost?
There are so many products on the market from so many vendors it can be difficult to choose what to bring in. We're a small, brick & mortar, independently owned shop. That means we do our best to provide value. That value may be in knitting or crochet help, it may be knowledge about a fiber type, or substituting one yarn for another. Our value, we feel, is also in the search for the best values available for you.
We're a little crazy about the idea of value. Value doesn't always mean the cheapest price, it also doesn't mean the most expensive either. In our little shop we spend a lot of time searching out the best values of a wide variety of items. It's one of the reasons we deal with over 70 different companies. It's more work for us, but it's a reflection of our commitment to finding the best values and the most unique experiences in the industry.

July 4th and beyond!
Come join us in Cambria for the 4th. It's an all day affair with music and so much more ending with a lovely fireworks display over the ocean at Moonstone Beach. Bring a bottle of wine (Moonstone Cellars anyone?) and a picnic, or buy what you need at the park, it's always a fun, old-fashioned great time in our little town. Yes, the shop's open 10 to 5 on the 4th, as we are 7 days a week! For information about the 4th of July celebrations in town, call (805) 927-5010 after 5:00 pm Mark your calendars for Labor Day weekend, where we're participating in our annual Pinedorado Parade! Since 1949, Labor Day weekend has meant Pinedorado Days in Cambria. This year, for the first time, the Ball & Skein & More will be participating in the parade, and we want you to be a part of it! We'll be walking the parade doing "Synchronized Stitching" and we're calling all Fiber Fans to join us! The parade is on Saturday, September 3, and we'll all meet at the shop that morning as the parade starts around the corner. It's sure to be fun and we'll get to show the people that come how fun it is to be a fiber fanatic! Just drop us a line at info@cambriayarn.com and let us know if you want to join us in the parade that day! We'll have more details as the day gets closer. If you've never been here for it, it's a great weekend for everyone with food, wine, music, and a wonderful car show! We will also have a VERY SPECIAL event that weekend with California's own Pagewood Farms! The last time they were in the shop, we had more fun than people should be allowed to have, so come on by! Stay tuned to our Facebook Page, our Ravelry Page, or this newsletter for all the latest news and upcoming special events, including the Scarecrow Festival in October and the Return of Auntie Wooly!
