Lessons and Buttons and Books, oh my...
We've been so busy, searching for new items, new yarns, new needles, we forget to mention that we offer buttons, lots of 'em, including the FABULOUS Nicky Epstein designed clasp pictured above! We have been getting new deliveries of some really interesting buttons and shawl pins for your much loved pieces.
We also offer lessons! In addition to our free "Stitching in your Slippers" social time, we also offer private instruction for all levels of knitters and crocheters. We're offering private lessons currently as our experience has been that people learn so much faster 'one on one' rather than in a class, and our goal is always to help you reach your greatest success!

August 27 Special Event!
California's own Pagewood Farms, producers of felting kits, spinning supplies, and some beautiful unique yarns will be here on Friday August 27 for a day of demonstrations and displays. They'll be demonstrating felting and needle felting, spinning techniques, and showing off items from their wonderful yarns. Don't miss this special event!  Manos Maxima
So many new yarns this month as our Fall/Winter buying is starting to bear fruit. From our friends at Manos del Uruguay comes Maxima, a new single ply wool that is SO SOFT it's not to be believed. A worsted weight yarn that currently is available in 10 beautiful colors. Of course we have them all. Come in and see this new Certified Fair Trade yarn from a woman's cooperative that has done so much for so many families faced with so many challenges.

Yes, we've been busy! Lots and lots of new yarns! So many, we'll just
give you the highlights here.
From our friends at Trendsetter comes Sierra Nevada, a beautiful variegated
chunky yarn in so many beautiful colors, and so soft you just want to
roll around in it.
Filatura Di
Crosa, Italian producers of fabulous fashion yarns gives us Eviva and Vivendo, two unique, fun yarns certain to spice up your
knitting life.
Gedifra brings us another new fashion yarn called Baldini. Lots of texture, lots of color, lots of fun!
Nashua, an old name in yarn and
textile - Nashua, New Hampshire being one of the original New England
textile mill towns - has released Creative
Focus Bulky. Made from the same Wool/Alpaca blend we all love
from Creative Focus Worsted and Chunky, Creative Focus Bulky knits up on
US #15 needles allowing you to quickly create that afghan or sweater
you've been dreaming about.
We also brought in hand-blown glass needles, buttons, and scarf/shawl pins from artisans in Vermont called Moving Mud.

Stitching in your Slippers!
Come join us every Friday and Sunday morning from 10:30 to 12:30 in front of the Cambria Historical Society for some fun with fiber. This is a FREE gathering of people that just want to sit and knit, crochet, spin, weave, sip coffee, and visit with your fellow fiber fans in a beautiful setting. The museeum is just down the street from the shop at the corner of Burton Dr and Center Street.
